How has he been able to have a great HS career against La talent then? When I watch film he has a LOT of the tools to not only be decent but a contributor

Can't say that about all the La WRs I've watched this year

I'm not sure you could any more clueless about half the junk you spew.

He has the frame to be a vertical receiver but not the speed. That works in HS, but from what I hear his stats aren't all that impressive. He's a jump baller who can block. I feel pretty confident he'll get shots at Bama that he would have never gotten at LSU and that was a big reason we didn't press.

Losing Jones makes getting Adams a big must. Not losing much in talent between the two so it would mitigate the loss, but I hope this doesn't start a disturbing trend in LA.

Salmon is right I think...he goes to LSU camp and he would've gotten an offer...didn't and the rest as they say is history

We have kids every year not play. James Wright has caught how many passes? It was stupid on our part no other way around it. I'll laugh my arse off if kid turns out good

There's a big difference between recruiting a guy you think fits and having him bust versus a guy you know just doesn't work in your system. Some might think you're doing the kid a favor by offering him but if he's still sitting on the bench in three years that could be spun just as badly as not offering, especially if it seems like we just offered to get the other two.

I think he'll have success as a role player at Bama, so laugh all you want when that happens, but I don't think his skillset translates to success at LSU. Bama can afford to gamble like that right now, they're playing with house money in Monroe.

ETA: the whole situation reminds me of Noel Ellis honestly. Maybe he gets the offer if he camps and shows he's willing to work to prove the staff wrong but otherwise they're not gonna chase him.

took sims to get CamROb. How is it that hard to understand. Just like they would take Lanard to get Leonard

He went to camp as a junior, ran a putrid 40, and looked to not be on the level of guys like Quinn, Noil, Dupre, and Tyron Johnson. He didn't come back to earn his offer like those guys did when they were at the same camp.

Those guys will be at LSU, sims will not. Ask anybody who watches a lot of HS football in Louisiana and they'll tell you sims is not bama caliber

Gotta remember who all those guys are fans of, and their team didn't offer and was burned because of it

Just something to consider...I'll trust Bama's staff evaluations they've been pretty spot on as of late

Not to mention his recent exploits at CB against DJ Charck LSU commit who he shut down and had a 60 yd pick 6

He is just a fball player...don't care what everyone who isn't paid on a college staff or on a recruiting site says about him not being worthy of a Bama offer

Congrats Bama... big pick up. Kids a baller. Sucks to lose him because ifs a huge position of need for us this year, but hopefully we can make up the ground with a guy like Jamal Adams.

Just curious... whats yalls safety depth looking like for next year? I know Collins will be starting. And HaHa goes pro. I know Sunseri will be back. So youll have Collins and Sunseri... who else??

I know right I still think we should process one of our assistant coaches so that we can make room for a kicking coach.

Vinnie will be back and before he was hurt was having a break out type yr

Not sure what Haha plans on doing he is looking like a 1st 3 rounds pick if he leaves but S is also hard to project, could honestly IMO be like a Barron situation where he came back after a season most players were pissed about and was a top 15 pick

Landon Collins was downright awesome in his role so far and will move to replace Haha if he leaves, but Bama also uses a S at star as a nickel and dime DB. LC was a great ST player his 1st year and that's likely what Hootie's role will be next year

I think Saban is now re-evaluating the potential of getting someone big by taking someone not so big. Case in point, we lost Allen because we wouldn't take Maynard. We missed out on RN because we really didn't give DN a chance. With about 5 guys being busts out of every class, why not give a scholarship to a kid that you know isn't going to produce instead of giving to a risk. It works out if that kid can bring you a sure thing. Plus, Sims will do well for us. We need another possessions receiver like Norwood

Pretty much everything ive seen when it comes to NFL draft rankings has HaHa as the #1 safety on the board. So i think he will be a 1st rounder right now.

And yea LC is awesome. I know a lot of people are angry and all that because he didnt go to LSU. And at the moment yea i was disappointed. But people need to remember its a 17 or 18 year old kid making the biggest decision of their lives up to that point. No point in flat out bashing or hating the kid, especially when you dont even know him. While i hate losing players to Bama , I am still extremely proud of the tyoe of talent we put out as a state. Its just ridiculous. A small state of like 4 million people, but we put out studs each and every year. i guess thats why i dont let losing out on big time players get to me as much. There will always be another big time player in LA in the next few years or so.

But besides LC and Sunseri, who else is there at S?

By the end of 2014 we lose everyone at safety except Geno Smith and Jai Miller (preferred walk on) : HCD, Collins, Williams, Vinnie

I watch a lot of Louisiana High School football and I'm not sold on Sims. I'm not sold on Sims, Dupre, or Noil.

I think the best WR I've seen in the state this year is Michael Chigbu and Trey Quinn.

Obviously you've never seen Quinn play then.
