I don't think he's being a douche. What WG said is correct. Comparing Newman to Fromm doesn't make sense. Same way you shouldn't compare your 2020 QB to Burrow.
Newman will be better than Beck (true freshman), Mathis (sophomore that had brain surgery) and Benett (former walk-on QB)

Actually a very smart pick up and will be one of the best moves Kirby Smart has made in his tenure. We haven't hit on QB recruits and had some transfer out for playing time and this gives us a perfect guy to come in and be the guy while the young guys get more xp especially with Dwan's brain situation and not being medically cleared to play.
I am very excited about having a guy that actually has some dual threat ability as well. I liked Jake Fromm but he was useless on the read option.

Considering they just took a fringe 1st round and turned him into what he is today, I’m not questioning it. As long as Coley is the OC, I’m expecting they don’t utilize him correctly.

Yeah, I went to Wake. He is good when healthy. Good stop gap and IMO, will perform better than Fromm.

Which is silly, really. Two years ago you had Ensminger as your OC and he made a future Heisman Trophy winner look ordinary. This year you still had Ensminger as your OC.
All I am saying is we are hearing that changes are coming. Probably not a change in OC, but something along the lines of LSU in a helper at OC.
We heard that for years with LSU and got nothing, but this past year.....jackpot! You stuck gold. I don't expect us to strike gold with our changes, but i do expect an improvement, and i think that is fair.

I thought the same thing this morning. In the college situation with less practice time and only a few years to be QB and with a lot of rotation in other positions....
A Dual Threat QB is the best option. They stress the defense, but good backups are needed because they often get hit more.
