How far has your confidence level diminished after this hire.

I'd guess from around 100% to 50%.

Eason is going to be a Dawg. Period. My confidence hasn't changed.

Hired a pass-happy OC that developed Drew Brees, Kyle Orton, and Tyler Bray in college.

Yep, really screwed up a shot to get an already committed QB to stick with that offense.

He did nothing in their development.

Maybe I'm just mind fricked from watching LSU's offense the last 8 years, but I don't think the hire was bad at all. If Kirby is having any second thoughts LSU would delighted to trade with UGA

Cheney doesn't develop QBs. He did nothing for BA while he was here

To me there's a big difference between respecting Enos and thinking Cheney sucks. I just think Enos was a grand slam hire more so than Cheney being a moron. Again I watch LSU throw slants at 100 mph every weekend, so I could be way off

Chris Brown and Bruce Feldman seem to think otherwise. And they've literally written books on the QB position

ETA: Put another way, he managed to get 20 TDs and only 5 INTs out of Nathan Pieterman this year at Pitt. That's miracle working

Lol, come on.

The guy has never won a championship and has zero coaching awards. The guy is about as middle-of-the-road as it gets and it screams of being like, 5th on someone's list of OC's under the category, "If all else fails hire..."

He coached at Purdue, Tennessee under Dooley, Arky, and Pitt. And you expect him to have championships and awards?

If he's elite, sure. But we all know he isn't.

I've said in other posts; the guy isn't a bad coach, he has NFL experience and has had some "decent" offenses, but he's not done anything to be excited about it. His only claim to fame is having coached Brees some. People mention Orton but Orton is a terrible NFL QB and lost his starting job to Tebow.

Plus, I think most would admit he probably isn't going to bring much to the table as a recruiter.

I think the OL coach hire is fantastic, though.

He didn't develop any of those guys. He wasn't their QB coach. He was Brandon Allen's QB coach when he was here though and that went horribly, so there's that.

He was Bray's only in his final season. For his first couple years it was Darin Hinshaw.

chaney isn't a good coordinator. he isn't a good QB coach either. I am pissed about losing Sam Pittman who is the best oline coach and recruiter in the country.

Pretty sure Pittman is the only reason we are taking Chaney.
