GA 4* OT Wayna Morris names Auburn and Tennessee as final 2
Niebuhr of 247 reporting that Wanya Morris now might OV to AU April 27-29 which is weekend after Vols OV & right before his announcement
AU also hosting 4* ATHs Jaylin Simpson & Jashawn Sheffield that weekend who both might commit
IMO this shows that Auburn feels we're behind. We know that Morris will be thrilled with his UT visit (Pruitt can 'cruit) and their lead will be even larger than it currently is. This is our "go all in" weekend to try and get him to join his boys, Pappoe and Clark, at AU. My guess would be that Pappoe visits with him (unofficial).
I think he ends up at UT though.

Congrats cocksuckers
Well still think TEN is team to beat. Also we didn't exactly kill it with late OVs in last recruiting cycle so I don't think this means we are a lock now. Just big that he won't only take an OV to Tennessee before announcing
As of today I still think AU nabs Pappoe & ya'll get Morris

Agreed tho Pappoe won't be there because he's got OV scheduled for TEX (will be at PSU this weekend). But with Hudson probably committing Friday, my guess is AU gets Simpson to pull trigger Saturday they are hoping that buzz paired with having last OV helps push em ahead. Seems to me tho Morris is really sold on being on the ground level of TEN rebuild

Sidenote: are a lot of schools using these spring OVs? I haven't heard of UGA scheduling any at all.

Biggest I have seen is what OK did this past weekend hosting like 14 OVs for a huge weekend
Don't think AU is gonna use a ton of em. Some prospects like Luke Deal & Marcus Banks have specifically said they wanna use em this spring so AU will obviously have them OV. I think for Morris it's more a response to TEN hosting him on an OV than AU planning to do it.
Will be interesting to see which schools push for more spring OVs & which decide to wait. I could see AU using some to try & get involved with more national targets who might not usually visit.

It just seems like you’re leaving a lot of time for the impact to wear off.

Agreed but this early recruiting period seems to have accelerated things for some kids. Also trend of recruits wanting recruiting done by senior season seems to be growing. I still tend to agree tho that waiting to have OV closer to when that prospect plans to sign makes more sense. Will be interesting to see how many of the kids that OV early & commit actually end up signing

Maybe, but not that much. UGA had like 4 commits at the end of May last year. That's an outlier, but it kind of illustrates how a school could get hot late and leave others defenseless having already burned their OVs.
I could maybe see the early OV with QBs.

True but that was also first time it was ever implemented. Coaching staffs and recruits have now seen a year of what early recruiting period looks like and, at least in my opinion, has a lot of guys wanting to be done either before senior season or by December this cycle.
But ya I agree overall that using OVs in spring is big risk.

I think they think they want that, but you're going to get a lot of guys who thought they were done until the season unfolds and new factors come into play.
December is a whole different deal. I absolutely wouldn't use an early OV on a guy who wants to be done in December. There's a whole season's worth of OV weekends before then.

2 CBs to Auburn this morning.
One from an LSU writer who has 50% prediction accuracy. He probably flipped a coin.
The other from Warren, this one worries me tbh.

New We've kept y'all informed on what we know and the latest buzz says this one has tightened considerably. Multiple sources have insisted that Tennessee will be the pick come May 1, but after gathering some new info today from another source, it sounds like a true final decision has not been made.
According to a source, Morris visited Auburn with his family earlier this week. That's big, as we've noted many times that Morris' mom had not made any previous trips with Wanya to the Plains.
Morris will take OVs to both Tennessee and Auburn in the next two weeks, so this one looks like it'll have plenty of twists and turns until May 1 ... and even then "once it's done, it's done" may not actually hold much weight.
Welp, congrats Auburn.

Don't worry UT - you will have an opportunity after Gus shits the bed at the end of the season and loses all of our recruiting momentum - that is...if your own coach doesn't shite the bed as well.

Someone close to the four-star tackle just informed me it looks like Morris will no longer be visiting the Tigers this weekend. Obviously, Auburn will work to change this in the coming days. But right now it appears that is where things stand. Things continue to change by the day in this recruitment and we will continue to monitor it.
