If the Hog fan base will let coach BB build this program and be patient until he can get to the 10 win season mark you guys will have a solid program. Right now he is doing it right and slowly year by year. I think in a couple of years the Hogs will be at the top level in the SEC West and I hope my LSU tigers can improve against
Thanks.
I think we're going to be passing the Boot back & forth for as long as Bret stays with us.
Your recruiting this year is just CRAZY.
Interestingly, we may have our best recruiting year ever...and maybe break even with what SEC west does all the time.
It was a BIG hole Nutt dug. It wasn't always this way.

I feel we can really take advantage of some of these relationships next year once Les is fired and possibly convince some recruits to give Arkansas a shot.
After getting backed by the president of the university, Miles isn't going anywhere unless he retires or has a losing season. Considering that his worst seasons were a pair of 8-5s, that definitely isn't happening next year. It should be the most talented and most experienced Tiger team since 2012. There are no guarantees in the SEC, but I can't see next year being like 2008 or 2014.
For good or bad, Miles has at least 2-3 seasons left.

That's the goal. Congrats. That's cause for celebration in hog land.
no its not a goal...its too easy to be a goal. even our shittiest teams of 2 and 3 stars give your poorly coached and motivated 5 star losers fits. You loss to us is becoming anecdotal on our schedule, almost to the point where we put an asterick beside it as in 'mark that down in the win column'

No asterisks in 2006 or 2011...when it really mattered for you. It's been a competitive series since the Hogs joined the SEC, but LSU still has an edge since then, as well as 4 SEC Titles. 2 wins in a row is great, but history still isn't on your side, by ANY measure.

The 'two wins in a row' doesn't say we're dominant.
It just says we're not your doormat.

Fair enough. The head to head says you're not. Both schools have cost each other West titles over the last 15 years, and the record is tight.
Most of the bluster here in this thread has to do with recruiting, which you have to admit, has been in LSU's favor for the last 20 years. I don't think Arkansas will be making serious inroads into LA to the point where you guys are in play for multiple top players, like Bama is. They are able to because of the combination of multiple recent titles, Saban's history in the state, and a run of 5 straight wins. Even with all of this in their corner, they still don't win all of the battles here because of the pull of the home state. Arkansas doesn't have any of those advantages right now.
That doesn't mean Arkansas will never get anyone out of LA. However, it's going to take more than 2 wins in a row to win battles for multiple 4 and 5 star guys.

Yeah, bullshite. Maybe if you are 10 years old and just getting into football. There really isn't a reason to when you've witnessed more losses than wins to LSU. We beat Miss State like 17 years in a row but after the last 2 or 3 games before they beat us it wasn't considered an auto W anymore and it was getting competitive. The funny part is that most LSU fans were ready for that loss to Arkansas this past season, it was practically assumed.

I've mentioned twice today, that Houston Nutt dug us a ten-year long hole. In recruiting. In results. In respect.
During that period, Saban and Miles were putting you guys on the map in a big way.
We have to catch up. I said that too.
There has been push-back from Hog fans in this thread, about those two wins...to match the 'doormat' attitude of some of the LSU fans. Neither side is innocent.
Yes, you ARE out recruiting us. And have been for years. Congrats.
But the 'two wins' says that that isn't all there is to it. On paper, there shouldn't BE 'two wins'.

And nobody can argue with any of that.

I agree with you. There IS more to it, and that's a big reason why Miles came close to losing his job. We had highly rated classes from 2012-2014, but the ratings only take into account the stars of the guys you bring in, not the balance of the class, or whether you filled needs.
We have seen the fruit of some very uneven recruiting through that stretch on the field the last 2-3 years. We brought in far too few LBs and O Line guys, and made too many reaches on the D Line (3 guys transferred out, 2 for discipline and 1 didn't qualify and never played a down). The games that LSU has lost the last two years were all lost in the trenches. There's no mystery as to why.
This is all on Miles, and while he has made changes bringing in Grimes and Orgeron, it takes time to fix poor recruiting in an area over 2-3 years. 2016 should finally see the talent and experience level back where we need it on the O Line and Front 7. That will help against Bama, OM, and Arkansas.

It's not an excuse, it's a fact
LSU leads the series 14-10 since 1992, when Arkansas joined the league.
Point being, Arkansas has beaten LSU almost as much as they've lost to them in the modern era of football.

I have a lot of respect for the current state of the LSU football program, but a 14-10 series advantage since we entered the league doesn't scream automatic win like so many Tigger fans insinuate. The problem many Arkansas fans have is that the dialogue is "2 & 3*s vs 5*s". We didn't have a single "2*" on the field this year(Trey Flowers was the only 2* last year), but we had a bunch of high 3*s with very long offer lists, and 4*s. We don't have a roster full of kids who settled on Arkansas, or chose us over SMU, Colorado St., and Purdue. We have many kids who held offers from Alabama, Ohio St., Oklahoma, etc.

The Arkansas game is always a giant pain in the arse for LSU. I have no clue why the players don't get as fired up for that game as they do Bama or Ole Miss or whoever.
