No, that's not what you were supposed to get out of my post. Don't pretend it's not there to rile up idiotic LSU fans. He's wasn't LSU's top priority but no one said they weren't interested; any Bama fan that gets upset by that is mentally unstable.

Stating that of 4 kids, the only one left without a scholly is the "odd man out" is sour grapes. That's not even a derogatory phrase. It's simply stating facts.

And it was repeated several times in the first few pages.
By different posters, with the same opinion. Again, you're being sensitive. Take a peek to your left and realize you're on the SECrb.

And is the company line every time Alabama gets a commitment from a Louisiana kid.
Saying a kid is the odd man out is a company line?
Maybe the whole "LSU didn't want him anyways" line. I'll give you that. But BASED even said the kid was likely about to get an offer, and other posters agreed.

Good one. Now can we get back to talking about what a beast Shyheim Carter is going to be at Alabama? Thanks.
Posted on 7/15/14 at 9:43 pm to chattabama
I don't think that discussion ever began.

It has to start first.

It should have started when it was announced. Shyheim Carter is going to be a stud. Great way to start off this class.

It should've. Check out the first reply to the OP.

What? That I love Louisiana recruits? Landon Collins and Denzel Devall have been studs for us. Looking forward to seeing what Cam Rob, Hootie, and Cam Sims can do.
Do you lament when an LSU pipeline is kept open in Florida or Texas?

You should Bama wouldn't be Bama without them.

The state of Alabama has produced more first round picks than the state of Louisiana over the last 5 years, fwiw.

We consistently get elite talent from both but we don't act like morons about it.

Without out-of-state talent bama is basically Miss. St. without the cowbells, Bubba.
Saban openly preached about keeping all of the La. recruits at home when he was at LSU. He has only signed about a half-dozen players from the state of Ala. the past four or five years at bama.
He obviously isn't too impressed with the in-state talent in Ala. after having been on the bayou.

Don't be delusional. Alabama houses 2 SEC schools, both of which rely on in state kids as the backbone of the team. There's enough talent in state to help support 4 of the last 5 national champions. Let's skip over the fact the the state of Alabama is putting more high end talent into the league recently too.
Don't let being the only big house on the block fool you. If bama or auburn had the same luxury as lsu in that regard perhaps you wouldn't be so dense.

Plus, he's turned Bama into THE program that kids all over the country want to play for. It sucks for some of the talented in-state kids who get left out. Bama problems

40% of the roster is made up of in-state kids, genius.

It's a fact that Saban openly preached about keeping all of the talent in-state in his time at LSU. Are you telling me Saban wouldn't be able to sign more than 6 or 7 players from the state of Al. if he tried? Delusion is looking at you in the mirror son.

A quick roster check of rivals shows both teams with 20-25 players from the state of Al. LSU has around 60-65 from La. How do you define "backbone" in gumpville?

Check the rosters Bubba. You would have 1 good team (maybe) if you had to use only players from Al. Both Auburn and Bama need players from Ga, Fl, and La. to be competitive in the SEC.

Yet Saban continues to fly all over the country to avoid stocking them on his roster.

LSU had an in-state rival (Tulane) that didn't have the chest and decided to leave the SEC.
Bama can't even win the hearts and minds of the people of its own state. Sad.

I always chuckle when someone from the state of Al. refers to someone as dense.

There are 40 kids on our roster from Alabama. Lsu only has 42 listed on their depth chart from LA. Perhaps you want to try your math again.

I looked at the rosters listed on rivals and espn.
Rivals has 21 and espn has 24 players listed from the state of Al. Where are you getting 40 from?
Are you adding the walk-on gingers with bama-bangs that will never play a down? Beasts like Al. natives Zach Houston (Daphne Al.), Michael Nysewander (Hoover Al.) and Corey McCarron ( Mobile Al.)?
I shudder to think if we had to face these studs instead of Amari Cooper (Fl.), Landon Collins (La.) and A'Shawn Robinson (Tx.).

So are you saying Saban's championships at Bama are made more impressive when you consider the apparent dearth of in-state talent?

Ooo burn!
I assume you've blocked out all memories of CJ Mosley intercepting Jordan Jefferson's pass in 21-0, Julio Jones taking it to the house in 2009, and OJ Howard outrunning your DB's in 2013. All Alabama natives.
