I think the fact that you infer he is being insensitive to the plight of slavery says more about where your mind is than his.
Why am I not surprised at this from a fanbase that had to ban Confederate flags and a street named Confederate Way. And recently had a KKK rally on campus within the last 5 years.

I never thought Bama had much of a chance with him. Same with Ohio State. It was Ole Miss or UT then it was just Ole Miss and now it's Ole Miss or UT again.
ESPN was discussing our recruiting yesterday and said he is big to our class and is committed but Alabama, Ohio State and Tennessee are still threatening. It's amazing how clueless they are.

Our staff has basically promised him to come in May, work, and he will likely start at RT.

they're uncomfortably late on everything they report in regards to recruiting. All of their articles go up a day or two after a commitment. After Van committed I went to ESPN to see if they reported it on their recruiting page. It wasn't there so I thought oh I guess they don't see it as big recruiting news. Next day? Boom there it is. I spoke with Drew today about what he plans on doing in terms of an announcement and he said he will just be faxing in his letter and not having any type of ceremony or making a public announcement. Obviously things are subject to change at this time of year, but we may be waiting for the fax to roll in before truly know where is going.
