Is going towards the vols heavily right now.
Ole Miss fans are you getting nervous? Both parents are coming this weekend.

His best friend just committed to the Rebels.

His girlfriend goes to UT

What is there to be nervous about? I'd love to have the dude on our team but if he goes to UT then oh well, it's just football. The kid is gonna do what he wants to and I'm not going to lose sleep over it either way.

There is already a long thread on this

He's going to Ole Miss, the best thing for the OP right now would be to gracefully bow out of this thread.

No one is getting nervous about UT. No one probably will, either, until you can string together multiple strong recruiting classes, keep the the best in those classes out of trouble and on the field (looking at Preston Williams), and start to actually win against the better teams in the conference with some level of frequency.
Since Kids committing this Feb were 10 years old, UT is:
0-8 against Bama
0-8 against Florida
2-6 against UGA (one of those 2 wins was courtesy of Kiffin)
Change that and then people will be "nervous" about Tenn. Beating Ole Miss for a 4* OT isn't gonna scare anyone.

Remember Vol fans flippin out when he visited way back. Didn't happen then. Visiting isn't the same as flipping.

I think Butch is doing just that.

Actually we are hoping you are on the rise. Tired of the rest of the SEC complaining about our weak cross conference game every year with UT.

I am tired to but let us not forget yalls early 2000's train wreck.

I'm an Alabama fan and I'll readily admit you're on the rise. Problem is, you're so low that you have to rise up just to reach above average, much less "elite". UT hasn't been elite in a very, very long time.

I do not forget and I would rather play the 3rd Saturday in October against a ranked team every year. I prefer the better games.

The Earth is some 4 billions years old. Humans have existed for a small chunk of that time.
America has existed for 239 years.
Football has been played since the late 1800's.
8 years is not a "very very long time"
Let us not forget about the Mike Shula era because you know Alabama fans have seem to forgotten those days existed?
Posted on 1/29/15 at 10:35 am to ButchItUp
Shula still managed a 10 win season in 2005. Mike Dubose managed a SEC title in 1999. Tennessee hasn't won the SEC since 1998. And hasn't had a 10 win season since 2007.

Alabama's "early 2000s train wreak" was nothing compared to what UT is currently in
'99 won 10 games and the SEC
'02 won 10 games and the west
'05 won 10 games
'08 won 12 games
Aside from a two year bowl ban, Alabama has gone bowling every year but 1 since 1999. The Vols haven't won 10 games since 2007, and have 6 losing seasons in the last 10 years.

We've not forgotten. Shula was hired in MAY, for goodness sakes. His first year was always going to be horrid.
Even as bad as the 4 year Shula period was, he managed to win 10 games in 2005. Every coach at Alabama since the late 1950s has at least one 10 win season (including Fran who was only there two years). UT hasn't been consistently good in 15 years. As it relates to college football recruits, that's a long time.
I think UT is on the way up and you have reason for optimism, but I'd rather see you actually compete for the East a couple of years in a row before I'm willing to say you're "back".
