Does LSU pretty much have Duke Riley in the bag?

He cancelled his visit to Ole Miss this weekend to visit LSU instead.

Oddly enough, I'm hearing that the best they have to offer him this year is a greyshirt.

He must've loved him some Les Miles a couple nights ago.

I'm assuming Ole Miss is out of it at this point. Where does he end up?

Dudes a real LSU fan

He loves him some Les and LSU. I hope he gets his full offer this week. I'm sure that's why les told him to come back

This is why a lot of LSU fans get in a fit when a kid leaves the state. Most are expected to want to go to LSU and Duke is a good case for that.

I think he's going to be really good wherever he goes. I was hoping he'd visit Oxford this weekend. Oh well

I am not going to act like that about it. It must be tough for him to make a decision like that. Hope he comes to LSU but will understand if he doesn't.

He loves LSU and coveted an offer there. No excuses from us he didn't want to play at OM.

He's making the decision that he wants and I'll never have a problem with that.

I think if we change his greyshirt offer to an offer for this season, Riley will be at LSU. If not, he'll head to Ole Miss.

Just a hunch.

I think if LSU extends him a full offer and he takes it, they won't regret it.

Is there any reason to believe he would choose Ole Miss over an LSU greyshirt?

I suspect that would be a difficult choice to make for a lifelong LSU fan. On the one hand, you get to play for your dream school. On the other hand, you have to sit out a season and pay your own way for a semester.

Mr. Riley has a lot of considerations to weigh.

I don't believe it is a done deal if he doesn't get a full ride to LSU. Then again, the coaches have all weekend to persuade him that he should take the greyshirt so we'll know pretty much by Sunday how it went. I think he is holding out for an offer in this class, but will become open to the idea of greyshirting. But Miles and Coach Frank basically had to beg him to come visit LSU this weekend to show what we have to offer, not like it was an easy sell to get him to campus this weekend.

LSU still has 2-3 open spots. If we miss on Tashawn Bower and Eddie Williams this weekend, Riley will likely get a full offer. He's a great player and deserves one.

I highly doubt he pays his own way. I'm sure something will be arranged. Not a slight but that's usually how these things work.

Kid's a huge LSU fan. He still has a chance at a full ride, but right now it's just a greyshirt.

This. I don't think we'll send Riley home with a full offer because ideally the last two spots would go to Bower and Jackson.

My guess is that we'll let Bower and Jackson go home and stew on the visit for about a week, then we'll check in with them and press for a commitment. If we don't get one then, we might extend a last minute full offer to Riley.

No, it isn't. Greyshirts are not on scholarship and there are no "arrangements." Typically, greyshirt candidates come from families who can afford one semester of college tuition and board.
