Why?
Garcia part deux? Or holding out for another QB recruit?

He just wasn't very high on Mitch. Personally, I think you guys got a good one.

With you sarc, think he could be a good one. Seems like he was just waiting for the USCe offer all along. Anyone know if his offers to LSU or Bama were commitable?

Pretty much all of Bama's QB offers are contingent on performance at Bama's camp.

Considering I've watched film on over 30 QBs for the 2013 class, Mitch just never showed me anything to get excited about.
If you want my analysis of him look around page 149 or so.

I was thinking the same thing with LSU. Mitch never really seemed like the type of QB recruit that you instantly offer

He wasn't to me. Granted, I'm not an offensive coordinator whose job depends on these types of decisions, but Mitch just never really impressed me.
Give me a few and I'll re-post my analysis on him.

He might be comparable to Connor Shaw.

That may be the best comparison I've seen to Mitch yet. He's definitely not a game changer but he could be a servicable starter given time.

I have a similar opinion of him. Granted it's pretty difficult to judge because there's very little of his junior highlights on the internet and judging him from a highlight video in general.
He has nice mechanics and footwork and a very quick release. Though it looks like he takes everything from shotgun. His arm strength seems solid/about average. THe biggest 'issue' in evaluating him is that you see very few intermediate and downfield throws. The offense he plays in looks comparable to the air raid: basically catch the snap and throw with lots of quick slants and screens. So it's hard to tell from that perspective. He looks accurate and obviously put up some big time numbers though. Looks to be rated about right: low 4*. SEC caliber but not an elite prospect.
After Hackenburg committed to PSU, coaches basically were only recruiting Mitch and Kevin Olsen. Olsen is higher rated (and imo looks fairly similar on film) though Mangus had them rated equally. Ultimately Mangus and Spurrier decided to push for Mitch to commit rather than Olsen.
Hopefully he turns out to be good one but he won't even see the field/compete for the job until the 2014-2015 season with Shaw at QB. Undoubtedly going to get bigger and stronger etc. in that time frame.
