Had 1400+ all purpose yards last two years for Cincy as change of pace back. Redshirting this season and will be free to transfer.

The fourth

Always thought it was funny he had that full name plus IV when he originally went through the recruiting process

How can he redshirt if he has already played in 2 games this season?

I don't know how I feel about this, would his brother even have a chance at a roster spot? Do transfers count against our signing class?

They do not count against your class and you have a redshirt year you can use it whenever you like.

No he doesn't count against our signing limit but he does count towards the 85 man limit.

If Houston Nutt weren't an idiot, Ole Miss would have both Abernathys.

I'm not entirely certain this is still true. Last I heard (a few days ago) the family had said it wasn't happening but they may have been shooting it down on request from the staff. That said, it wouldn't be terribly surprising if he did. Coach Jones considers the Abernathys family - seriously - not coach/player family but family. They are extremely close.

It wouldn't surprise me if he transferred as a GA and learned coaching or if everything was kept quiet until the recruiting class was wrapped up so as not to lose out on players. Space is tight but a scholly could open in the spring as they often do.

Smart move considering how much money they have.

We had a great shot with this kid and Nutt shite all over the situation... He tends to do that.

Every time I hear Ralph David Abernathy it reminds me of why I hate Houston Nutt so much.

You can only use a redshirt when you don't play that season or get ncaa exception after playing in game/s that season...

You don't just get a redshirt whatever year you want. It has to be a season when you don't play in a game.

He's a return specialist more than he is a RB. 2,100 return yards in his career.

This kid is never going to contribute at Tennessee, this is just to get the younger brother. Nothing wrong with that you are getting a good db.
