3 year starter, 1 year left.
2022 - All ACC HM
2021 - All ACC 2nd Team
2020 - All ACC HM

Texas A&M received good news from the transfer portal Tuesday when Boston College defensive back Josh DeBerry announced he was transferring to play for the Aggies.

DeBerry entered the transfer portal during the spring window that started on April 15 and reported offers from Arkansas, Ole Miss, Wisconsin and Texas A&M among a few others.

This makes the 3rd Corner we've added via the portal.

Good pickup. Have to think he is coming in to start, right?

If we're limiting it to 2 starting CBs, Tyreek Chappell will be one. The other will be either DeBerry or Tony Grimes (UNC Transfer) unless a freshman comes out of nowhere or McCall (FSU transfer) really steps up.

DeBerry will likely start at nickel

Over Anderson? I doubt that.

Anderson slides into Johnson's spot IMO. Perhaps it's the other way around but DeBerry's skills seem better for a nickel/slot type than a safety

Bryce does takes Johnson's spot, but Johnson was the nickle.

The starting safeties will be Demani and either Gilbert or Jacoby. (Or maybe even Kerr. Folks sleep on him, but he's good and played a lot with the injuries last year.)

Going to have a 3 CBS, including nickel corner, most of the time

I think Deberry, McCall, and Grimes are battling for the starting spot opposite Chappell.

Safeties are Demani and (Gilbert or Jacoby).

Nickel is Bryce. (And he will be on the field pretty much every snap.)

That makes sense. A&M used Antonio at nickel in run support, more like a rover linebacker. Bryce can be physical as well.

Grimes wasn't great at UNC but did log a lot of snaps. Hoping the best for him.
