Good pickup Fsu. With him and that qb y'all should have a really fun offense to watch and should be in the playoff. Only good thing that can come from this on our side is maybe people will realize yancy, Neal, David Johnson and the rest of those guys don't really know anything and just try and say what fans want to hear so people will buy subscriptions and listen to them.

Per several posts on 247 Checkerboard not a big deal, Chandler was a better fit & a must have, Akers was a luxury...

He looked suspect at the Alabama Mississippi all star game. Also it wouldn't matter to Alabama if he played in the sec. No one can run the football on them anyway.

He's a tremendous athlete, but to say he's the best recruit ever to come out of MS is absurd. Yes, a local rag paper guy said that.

This is exactly why just about every top Mississippi recruit signed with an out-of-state program as recently as the early 90's--because they knew they would not face the hostility that a Louisiana kid who turned his back on LSU would...or an Alabama kid that turned his back on Alabama and Auburn....or an Arkansas kid who turned his back on Arkansas. No, they could come back to Mississippi and be regarded as HEROES for helping teams in other states win championships while Mississippi's own teams failed miserably.
Such attitudes as yours are driven by a deep-seated inferiority complex that unfortunately is shared by so many Mississippians.....further evidenced by the fact that you cannot drive 10 miles in our state without seeing Alabama or LSU paraphernalia....on cars, on T-shirts, on baseball caps.....which generally belong to people who not only never attended those schools, but who have never lived in the states those schools are located in and often have never even been to those states.

shite he may not be the top in MS this year. If you give me Akers or Gay I take Gay 10/10 times.
Akers has stupid upside but the kid hasn't played RB yet. He is the definition of a project.
