I never thought he was so great during the recruiting cycle. He got owned by a number of elite DEs at camps. I think he has talent but I don't think he will ever be an elite OT and I have a hard time believing he starts over Whoever stays from Avery Young, Shon Coleman and Patrick Miller. Add Braden Smith who is freakish athletic coming in as well and I see Golson riding pine

Why is he walking on? Is he not good enough to be a scholarship player?

Freeze didn't grant him a full release, hence, he cannot go on scholarship. He'll most likely go on scholarship next year if he stays out of trouble and does well.

Well if Ole Miss' Starting Right Tackle isn't good enough to be a scholarship player at Auburn, we must be doing pretty good.

Either that or we have no fricking depth at OT.
*Looks at OM depth chart. Sees just 2 OTs now that Golson is gone.*
Yeah we have no fricking depth.

Do you not get that he was one of only 3 tackles we had on campus?
And he never actually started a game. He played all last year as a back-up guard. He was the starter coming out of spring because our other RT was being tested out at center.
I'm not saying he's not good, but he's not a world-beater and I'm not surprised Auburn has many more talented players at his position.
If his grandparents aren't deathly ill, he is an idiot for transferring. I'm not making a judgement one way or the other, just stating a fact. He'll probably never start at Auburn.

I really don't care where he is, but you seem greatly involved in this. He is just another walk on right now. Love the way you bears are acting like he was of no consequence to your team. Both teams will be okay if he went to Troy. Just like jerking your bear chain. Hope it works out for you.

I never said it wasn't a big deal and I'm pretty sure we all know it sucks.
That's why I pointed out the shitty depth situation. He left us in the lurch.
It's not hard to read my post and see that my point was that Golson not being able to walk into a starting position at Auburn didn't surprise me. Nowhere did I imply it wasn't a loss for us.

quote:I wouldn't necessarily say we have a lot of players more talented than him. Auburn will lose a center, a guard, and possibly could have a tackle turn pro early after this year. If the tackle turns pro, Golson could have a decent chance at starting somewhere for Auburn next year. Finding a position for him could be difficult if the tackle comes back
I'm not surprised Auburn has many more talented players at his position.

Idk why y'all are laughing. We were assured that Golson was given a full release by the kind Coach Freeze.

Freeze actually just puts on a show and is in reality a ruthless cold hearted mother fricker that will slit your throat and shite down your neck if you wrong him.

I've learned most laugh when they find humor in something or out of joy. Did either one of these things happen in here?

Kids wanted to be close to a sick family member.

Is that legit? I know there was some speculation that his grandparents were sick or something.
