Correct. Sherman would have started Showers no matter what, like he did with Jerrod Johnson for six games while he hadn't recovered from surgery.

Jameil Showers (Tannehill's backup) would have started. Sherman favored seniority.
And Sherman was canned because he was stubborn with not making mid - game adjustments and wasn't completely on board with switching conferences or taking risks, like, say, starting a redshirt freshman with zero game experience over a junior.
