Yeah, if things crank up like some think it'll get crazy around here. Most of the oil is still in the ground, but with new drilling techniques it could get GOOD!!! If it does, the U of A will have a hundred T. Boone Pickens.
Bout how old are you Hawgeye if you don't mind me asking?

You can't be mad at an 18yr old for following his heart or dick or whatever. He didn't owe me shite. I am encouraged by the defensive talent we are bringing in, we'll be fine on offense.
I had the same reaction. Of course I would have liked for DGB to have picked the Hogs but I'm very excited about the defensive talent we are bringing in. Also, our offense will continue to be dynamic under Petrino. He has never failed to put a high octane, prolific offense on the field and that isn’t going to change.

You guys were able to get the mineral rights on the purchase? That's a sweet deal. Lots of times these days Mineral rights are not coming w/the land.
Oil base mud is used in Arkansas, so if they go to drilling on your land, make sure they have a pit with solid lining for their returns. Covering that mess up with dirt is just like quicksand and it will be a hazard to drinking water.

I'm 30.
It is different. You can drill about 20-30 wells in one spot now. Rigs are run by hydraulic power and can move along beams under them. That allows them to stay on the same pad for about 3 months and cuts down on rig move time. Bring in directional drillers and hit those formations and then break off horizontal. We can hit a pocket of oil or gas 2 miles or so away.
In Utah, we would be drilling into mountains a mile away. Technology has really brought the industry along.

All we learn in school is how technology brings every industry along and make this change so fast that it is actually a pain in the arse.

I'm a little older. Thought I might know you, but I'm 36 so not who I thought.
I'm excited about it for sure. Not for personal profit, but to see the area rebound. South Arkansas has been going to shite for 30 yrs. Another oil boom would be NICE!!!
