I had never seen his name before last week's Mobile RCS camp.
He's only a Sophomore so I'm sure he'll get more publicity over the next two years.

I saw today he was an All-State performer this past season if that helps.

Hopefully he committed to lsu because he actually wants to go there and not because they were the biggest school to offer him so far.

Well he's from the southern part of the state so he could have grown up a fan of LSU as easily as Alabama or Auburn.

BAMA DECLINE REAL - straight from recruit's mouth
LSU earned its first commitment for the Class of 2020 on Wednesday, receiving a verbal commitment from 3-star Alabama athlete Kris Abrams-Draine. LSU offered Abrams-Draine last week, and the receiver didn’t need much time to think things over.
Despite being from Alabama, Abrams-Draine told SEC Country’s Sam Spiegelman he’s been an LSU fan his entire life. Attending the Tigers’ 2017 comeback win against Auburn left a lasting impression on Abrams-Draine, as has LSU’s history of putting players into the NFL.

Naturally, being from Alabama, Abrams-Draine has some thoughts about the Crimson Tide. When asked about the Alabama rivalry, he said that was one of the selling points about LSU.
“Everyone from Alabama wants to go to Alabama as kids, but I want to be different,” he said. “If I beat Alabama, then they can’t say nothing.”

Thats really awesome for the kid. A sophomore and already has a committable offer from an SEC school. So happy for him. Congrats on the pick up.

So does that mean kid isn't talented ?

No. Alabama always slow plays in-State kids. Only problem I've ever had about Saban. It finally cost Alabama with Malik Langham in the 2018 class.

Kind of have to put quotations marks around the word rivalry when talking about the Alabama-LSU game.

Might as well put quotation marks around the word "thoughts" when talking about Alabama too.
