He's the top WR in Texas for 23 and was very close to Cale Gundy. Gundy was the sole recruiter of him for 2 years and he said he was devested when he resigned last week.

He has Texas, A&M, and LSU as interested.

Any chance he reopens his commitment?

Maybe he is and maybe he isn't. Georgia got two CBs for Evans a day or so ago, one from Brandon Drumm (Oklahoma Insider) and one from Steve Wiltfong.

Now is the time you tell us that Drumm is not reliable.

That said, we know the recruiting is fluid and changes rapidly, so he could go right back to leaning Oklahoma tomorrow.

I think Evans is going to commit to Georgia today. Our recruiting insider guys went down to visit him last night and his coaches were hovering around him and hurrying him away from them (weird), and they were the ones who approved our guys to interview him in the first place. I think that's telling.

BUT....that's okay. We got somebody on flip watch if Evans pulls the trigger to UGA as suspected, so don't even sweat it.

He's not a 5 star but he should be. They never gave Marvin Mims his 5th star either and he shattered all the receiving records in the state of TX. Clowns will be clowns. We know what Pettway is and that's all that matters.

ETA: Evans is clearly not a 3* athlete either. He's much better than that. It's the same clownery.

Oklahoma recruits WRs extremely well. IF he picks Georgia I doubt it will be over, and even if it is over Oklahoma will do just fine. Appreciate your insight, CharlotteSooner.

He has a great relationship with your staff and Cale leaving hit him and his family really hard. We've made a big last minute push to keep him in the fold but I think we come up short. He's a good player.

WE (Georgia fans) felt like losing your WR coach would hurt. Probably not knowing how Venables might affect your offense hurt a bit, too. Vanables is a defensive coach and they tend to like a more restrained offensive approach (See: Kirby Smart). Venables might take the gloves off and let your OC have free reign, or he might try to protect the defense a bit.
I really think Venables will do well at Oklahoma....but I also think he might throttle the offense back a bit. (That's just a feeling on my part, though) We won't know for sure until the season, though. Thank goodness it is almost here. Should be an interesting year.

Not looking like V will be involved with the offense at all so far or put any kind of regulator on it. Looks like he gave Lebby free reign to let it rip so that's what we're expecing.

Cale was a master recruiter and specializes in relationships better than any coach we have or have had in the past. There was bound to be a little fallout from his departure, and I think Evans is that fallout and that's okay.

Worst case scenario, Evans is going to be a Dawg, looks like we're going to flip a big time WR from elsewhere, and UGA and OU both walk away with studs. Can't find much to complain about there.

I didn’t change anything since I told you he was coming to OU and it’s going to be a good day for OU! Prob has to do with the fact that Venables and crew can recruit well…. We put out great wrs and we also have a future star in 5 star qb Jackson Arnold who played amazing in wk1. Venables has OU on a different level than we have been .

Alot of drama in this kid's recruitment. Crystal Balls now being flipped back to OU for Evans. Crazy last minute effort just as the sun was setting on his decision. Completely crazy...

Venables is just taking whoever he wants from whoever at this point. OU is about to be a major issue for the SEC with the money coming in and this coaching staffs recruiting.

Congrats to Oklahoma. We wanted the kid, no doubt, and think he will be a good one. I'm sure we will still try to flip him, but Oklahoma definitely wins round 1.
