These are the best kinds of recruits. I'd rather have a player ranked in the 20's who starts 3 or 4 years than a top 5 player who starts one year.

That kid will never be a two no matter where he goes. He doesnt have ball skills like that. He will be a 3 in the lg if he doesnt grow anymore.

Undersized to be a 3 in the league.

Height is overrate in Basketball... No one these day want to go down low to get the rebound for the fast break. Its a shame because it's the best offense there is. Where have the the unselfish players gone? Answer, the three point line SMH.

Hes a 3 in the NBA people. Don't get too unrealistic...

He is too small to play the 3 in the NBA? WTF

If he's really 6'8 he could play some 3. He definitely needs to put on some muscle, but that should come.
I wonder how much 4 he plays for us this year. We did it with Cooper some last year, whose probably more like 6'6. We definitely should go more up-tempo if we do that. We should anyway.

He's listed at 6'7 and closer to 6'6 in reality. Guarding NBA 3s at that size will be a difficult task. Most NBA 3s are 6'8 or taller. Offensively he is not even close to being able to play the position.
He will be a very good college forward for at least 3 years.

No way they put a kid who likes to bang and plays good post defense at the 2. Just saying.

I thought he was 6'8 but who knows. Muscle is overrated. Thats how they fricked up Greg Oden. You cant put weight on everybody and expect them to all of a sudden be able to support it. Look at KG. He is a beast, Chris Bosh, Amare S. Im just saying that whole he needs to get bigger is BS. KD dominates and couldnt bench 125.

KD looks like a stick figure

Devonta Pollard is closer to 6’8" than 6’6"....
Posted on 6/1/12 at 6:18 pm to BigBird09
Pollard said he didn't know where he was going til this morning and said he just felt comfortable at Alabama.

So do we just move onto 2013 and keep the same thread?
So we lose Steele and Eblen for sure. That would leave us with: Releford (SR), Omojoh/Obasahan/the Belgian (RFR), Lacey (JR), Randolph (JR), Cooper (JR), Pollard (SO), Jacbos (JR), Engstrom (SR), Gueye (SR).
Obviously somebody could transfer, get processed, go pro (unlikely), but that would leave us with 4 scholarships.
Already have Shannon Hale and Jimmie Taylor
So, a 4 and a 5.
We know we're desperate for a point guard. There's
Anthony Barber and Jaren Sina.
Wasn't there some kid from Texas too? Regardless, we'll be signing a point guard.
And then other big men, Antravious Simmons, etc.
I would kind of like to take a wing (some of it depends on how much Pollard plays as a 4), but I guess its looking like 3 bigs and a point unless somebody gets processed.
Who else are we in on? Barber's teammate?

I say keep this thread until Harrell decides and then we can make a new thread.

We could add the kid Montrell or whatever his name is. I also dont think any of these kids will leave they seem like a pretty close knit group and all of the younger guys will play. Wouldnt mind seeing Eblen get processed though. JMO.
Posted on 6/1/12 at 6:36 pm to Tide or Die87
Eblen only has 1 more year and we're not going to have a full roster this year anyway so processing him wouldn't accomplish anything. I do wonder if the Belgian will take his place as back-up PG this year. It would be nice playing 5 on 5 when we have the back-up PG in

Eblen's a senior and we're only at 12 scholarships with (presumably) only one more possible recruit out there. It would just be processing for the hell of it.
