5 Star Offensive Skill Recruits of the Last 10 years vs Production in College

So was bored at work the other day and put this together. It might be incomplete, so don’t quote me on anything
I did the runningbacks, will try to do the others later
What are the odds your 5 star offensive skill position will not be a bust? Here is a list of every 5 star skill position from that last 10 years, with any top 5 player notated as well. How well did they perform in college? Were they a bust, role player, or star? More than likely that 5 stars will have a much better probability than lesser, but this basically is using past precedent to garner future expectations
Used 247 composite, when considering category, used only college career, not NFL . Also, when I say “star” I don’t mean best of the best, but a good/top performer

For QB's Im either doing star or bust. And using the star term loosely, since no role player. Star could mean multi year starter

just a note, Christine Michael would be classified as at least /star if he hadn't had two season ending injuries. Drafted in the 2nd round, their first pick, last year by the Seahawks.

C Mike had a better career than Goodson statistically also. I would classify both as role players though

Can't believe Gurley was just a 4 star.
Anyone know why?

Two thousand yard rushing seasons in his first two seasons at Bama pretty much makes him a star, wouldn't you say? Especially since he was behind Lacy his freshman season. Not sure why you would find that amusing.

So what's the deal with the QBs/WRs? Are you going to finish those later or just putting up the information for people who wants to do it themselves?
Posted on 3/10/14 at 4:47 pm to randomways
I got busy today, I'll do star/bust for them tomorrow.

Marshall was the one getting all the hype at the time. Gurley got 4 stars, so the analysts didn't exactly whiff on him. He was just barely short of a fifth star, iirc.
Edit: Checking 247, he was Composite .9626 and 74 in the country, while 247 had him rated at 96 and number 56 in the country. That's getting up there as far as four stars go, so even without that 5th star, he was getting lots of respect.

2 1000 yard years, is a great receiver, averaged over 6 YPC both years. Do you even football?

He didn't get any publicity early in the process, and then it was sort of a case where no site really wanted to go out on a limb with his ranking.

You left out Trey Williams for A&M at Running Back.
Posted on 3/10/14 at 5:04 pm to RockyMtnTigerWDE
He was overshadowed in NC by Marshall. That and he didn't really come on strong tilk his senior season. I believe he was a 3 star till the last ranking.

Looks like they added the "apb" designation at some point, I wasn't looking for it. I'll figure out what year and add the missed tomorrow.
