We have 2 4-star linebackers that are part of this current recruiting class. 4-star redshirt freshman Edgerrin Cooper really came on strong this past season. Yes, it would not be ideal if Perkins committed elsewhere. Yes, I still want him to commit back to us. But our linebacker unit will not suffer without him.

I would think we will try to get a LB in the portal if we don’t get him, remains to be seen. Perkins is a beast though, if he isn’t replaced in the class it obviously hurts us

I can’t wait until all the fans who dont get him start talking about how he’s a locker-room cancer, not worth the drama & a bust right after he signs. Hell, I don’t think Deion really has a shot in this one but if JSU snags him it could even be a nice bonding moment for all of us

There is no question as to his talent and it's understandable he is trying to build up drama both to raise his profile and because he is clearly enjoying it. This is why you should never allow yourself to get too emotionally invested in a HS Recruit, folks forget these are 17/18 year old kids getting far more attention than the average person can conceive of at that age. A guy like Perkins is basically being treated like a Rock Star.
I have no ill will towards him no matter what he chooses. The only time it pisses me off is when kids go out of their way to talk about how much they love school X and are long time commits and then they switch last minute. When they do that they are likely taking a chance from another kid that would have loved that scholarship and that's kind of crappy if their only goal was attention. If they are at least honest beforehand they are wavering that's one thing but last minute switches without warning suck. Honestly I think Travis Hunter deserved some criticism for this. Still they are kids and think selfishly, I have 2 of them myself.

I can't speak to being a cancer, but based in that interview I can pretty firmly state he's not the sharpest tool in the shed.

Hot water? Get with the times superstar, this isn’t Charlie Pell’s recruiting environment. You either do what you have to do to get a few kids like this each cycle or you recruit like UF has the past 8 years since Muschamp got canned
