So we already know that the five stars in this class will be sure things? Got it.

That wasn't my point at all.

I was simply pointing out that the record for 5*s in a single class held by USC needs qualification.

Five star player's bust, just like other players, but 52% of them were drafted since 2002, and 17% in the first round. LINK

Only 3 out of the 8 five stars in the 2004 USC class were drafted and only one in the first round.

That's below average. Not only that, but most of those guys had less than stellar college careers.

If you can't see my point

I'm too lazy to do the research, but does anyone know off hand some all time great classes, regardless of recruiting ranks at the time?

2009 from LSU had Mo Claiborne and Bennie Logan in it as three stars for example.

Recently...

USC 2003: (Reggie Bush, LenDale White, Sedrick Ellis, John David Booty, Lawrence Jackson, Sam Baker, Terrell Thomas, Ryan Kalil, Fili Moala, and Eric Wright).

Florida 2006: (Tim Tebow, Percy Harvin, Brandon Spikes, Riley Cooper, Marcus Gilbert, and Carl Johnson.)

Alabama 2008: (Julio Jones, Marcell Dareus, Mark Barron, Tyler Love, Courtney Upshaw, Barrett Jones, Terrence Cody, and Dont'A Hightower)

Going back a few decades Miami had some sick classes.

I was only pointing out that their recruiting class had to be seen as one of the best on that NSD, which is what we're talking about here. If you want to talk about which class will produce the best players down the road, then we won't know for a few years.

Yeah, they just re-ranked the 247 5 stars and LSU had 4 on the list, and that's not counting Chidi Valentine-Okeke, who has to sit out this year (NCAA), and Tyron Johnson, who only isn't getting more looks because of Dupre-Dural. You could make a good argument LSU signed 5-6 legit 5*'s last season

LSU had 5 on the list, not including Tyron Johnson and CVO.

-Jackson

LSU definitely was on point with their evals last year.

Goddamn are you butthurt or what? I would be more concerned about who you're recruiting to block for Shea because Ed Alexander, Rashard Lawrence and Shavar Manuel are some big boys and they gonna eat.

2010 LSU was nasty. But probably which ever class Miami had that was most responsible for the 01 squad.

Alfred Blue
Ego Ferguson
JC Copeland
Nic Jacobs
Tyranny Mathieu
Elliot Porter
Tharold Simon
Eric Reid
Spencer Ware
James Wright

09 LSU squad:
Michael Brockers
Morris Claiborne
Michael Ford
Bonnie Logan
Craig Loston
Barkevious Mingo
Kevin Minter
Sam Montgomery
Reuben Randle
Russell Sheppard

Yes, because I said LSU's class won't be the best NSD class of all-time means I'm butthurt. I already said LSU's class will be nasty and I believe will probably be tops in the country for this year. I think the one that are butthurt are the ones downvoting all of my posts because their little brains have misconstrued what I was saying.

2008 Bama was unreal if you're looking at who they produced and not what it looked like as far as stars on NSD.

Julio Jones
Mark Barron
Courtney Upshaw
Don'ta Hightower
Mark Ingram
Robert Lester
Marcel Dareus
Barrett Jones
Terrance Cody

That's three guys picked in the top five of the draft, a Heisman winner and a couple of highly-productive defensive players and some solid NFL players.

Shavar Manuel quoted as saying to ESPN he already knows where he wants to go. Looks good for LSU with some time to go.

Not surprising. Wouldn't be shocked if multiple kids from IMG have grade issues

Why? I would expect the opposite. The have strict schedules that include academics as well as athletics. The resources and supervision they get far excedes that of a what most of them would have at home.
