If Derrick Brown picks Auburn, it would give us 3 of the top 5 players in Georgia on the 247 composite rankings.

Derrick Brown is number one in those rankings, Kyle Davis is number four, and Antwaun Jackson is number five. The latter two are already enrolled at Auburn

If they had ties to Georgia then yes. But a large portion of metro Atlanta doesn't.

Y'all ought to sign 7+ of the top 10 from georgia every year.

I don't think you understand how the state of Georgia works. To be able to sign 5 of the top 10 is an achievement in itself.

Pretty sure Auburn's second largest alumni base is ATL. Auburn should compete effectively for Georgia players every year.

And they do...

When we got the top 8 in GA (or however many it was) out of the top 10 for that "dream team" class, everyone lost their minds. That is an outlier, not the norm, and definitely should not be expected every year.

If we consistently pulled 7 of the top 10 from GA, it would take about 3 classes before we made the playoff, I think.

As does Florida, Alabama, Clemson, and I am sure FSU, Michigan, Ohio State, and Tennessee have a decent foothold in Atlanta. All of these schools come into Georgia to recruit. It's literally impossible to get every recruit we want.

You Georgia fans realize that even the best defensive lineman Tracy Rocker has coached have largely been failures in the NFL.

I guess it is a good thing UGA is not in the NFL, then, huh? Your statement is confusing. Is there a reason we should care how they do in the NFL? We want results now, not after they graduate.

Someone explain to me who Trent Thompson is, and why the UGphags troll every AU thread with him. TIA.

He wasa top 5 recruit last year and several of the Auburn fans screamed they knew for a fact he would be going to Auburn. Every thread that cam up they were talking about how they had inside information that Brown was going to Auburn.

Unless your name is jrljr then no.

Actually I visit your recruiting board from time to time. It is very active and we recruit many of the same players, so I am curious about how you guys feel about some of the guys we are going after. It was more than just jrljr that was feeling very confident. He definitely was the most vocal, but many were voicing confidence.

Because most recruits want to end up in the NFL.

True. Maybe there is a reason why UGA has more players in the NFL?

Obviously changing since Auburn has more rookies on NFL teams than any team in college football

The confidence waned very quickly then. I thought it was a foregone conclusion that he was headed to Georgia very early in his recruitment.
