Of course, but it sure looks like a possibility
I mean...possibility? 1% chance is a possibility. I'm not sure why a kid that says he is going to sing in February gets everybody all excited. I'm sure people will continue to try to flip him...at least I would hope Kirby is trying. I just think the kid wants to stay home. Is it possible? Sure.

It’s funny that some people are so butthurt about this even being discussed.
For South Carolina fans I think it came down to the LSU poster that started a thread saying "South Carolina should allow Burch to go where he really wants to go" meaning...LSU. Can you guys really not understand why threads like that might make people defensive?

Can you show me a single direct quote where this kid has said anything about his recruitment being shut down? Burch could end all of this speculation, but to my knowledge, he hasn't. I've seen a quote from his HS coach where the coach says he thinks Burch is waiting to sign with his teammate, but that didn't sound definitive, and I've never seen Burch actually say this.
And then the quote from yesterday was basically that he's heard from all the schools that he was considering, nobody was asking him to setup visits (does he have any left?), he hasn't returned any messages, and he wasn't sure if he was going to take any visits in January.
I know the early period is relatively new, but I don't remember seeing a scenario like this before. The whole situation is really weird and the SC fans getting so upset about people saying it's weird makes it even weirder.

Burch just said he may take visits in January. Doesn’t sound solid to me

This thread has literally paragraphs of SCAR fans thinking they know exactly why Burch didn’t sign the LOI when they don’t know shite. He’s going to take visits. I don’t know what that really entails but all this “he wants to sign at the same time as his teammate” never made any sense given that he still did his own ceremony, so stop saying that it does.

I didn’t have anything to do with that thread. There are plenty of other threads trolling LSU recently that nobody seems to have an issue with.

Thanks.
How about the full quote
So what's he thinking about soon? Whether his recruitment is shut down or not? Whether he's taking any more visits?
He had plenty of opportunity to shut his recruitment down in that interview, but he continues to leave the door open. Why is that?
Like I've said many times, I honestly believe he sticks with SC, but you're delusional if you think LSU, Clemson, Georgia and Alabama aren't still coming hard for him.

The No. 1-ranked prospect from the state of South Carolina isn’t sure if he’ll visit other schools in January.
“I haven’t thought about anything yet,” he said, “But I will soon.”

I'm not clinging to 4 words. I'm pointing out all of his actions and words since he committed and I'm pointing out what he's not saying (his recruitment is shutdown).
You're the one who read that entire article and choose to post a partial quote in an attempt to misrepresent what he actually said.

Those are four pretty big words in the scheme of things.

My advice to UGA, LSU and Bama fans right now. Forget about Burch. Probably 90% likelihood he stays with his commitment - better off for the other team’s fans to just forget about Burch - maybe your team gets a February bonus but better not to spend on it now. #burchisagamecok

Definitely too low. And I don't think anyone in this thread is counting on Burch or anything. Just pointing out the obvious.

Absolutely cannot. And I am not criticizing LSU for continuing to recruit him. I would be disappointed if Georgia were not continuing to recruit him.
quote:Why would he care about the speculation? I mean, he doesn't stir stuff up. He seems to be a very quiet kid. he hasn't been flipflopping all over the place. (Zach Evans style?)
Burch could end all of this speculation, but to my knowledge, he hasn't.
Nobody is criticizing LSU. I think the problem comes in when LSU fans act like he doesn't want to be at SC but surely he wants to be at LSU, and SC should let him go to LSU.
That was a stupid thread. Burch has not signed with SC, and SC would have no say about "letting" him go to LSU or not.
quote:The scenario plays itself out literally every year. Every kid that signs in February does this. that is all that is happening. He committed to SC and is signing in February. Period. There isn't anything unique about this. The thing that seems to be throwing people is the fact that he announced his commitment on the early signing day. but it is no different than if he had announced his commitment in September or October.
I know the early period is relatively new, but I don't remember seeing a scenario like this before.

Carolina Girl, I will tell you this. I have talked to and even argued with Whitefoot on several occasions. He is not a troll. He is one of the best posters on this board in my opinion. He is not trying to get anybody riled up. He is legit.
And, if you read what he is saying you will see what I mean. Because he is right. The other schools will try to get their foot in the door.
From Georgia's perspective, we will try, but don't believe he will go anywhere other than SC.
