Yes and they wouldn't accept his commit when he tried to commit. He didn't get an actual offer until JLS took over and Jamel James decommitted.
He's a good RB but his injury history was a major concern to this staff. If it was up to me, I would still take him however because we have the room. The staff seems happy to fall back on Denzell Evans, Lorenzo Woodley or Daryl Chestnut though if we miss out.
Obviously its not just us that has concerns on Blanchard. Tennessee, Auburn, Mississippi St, Vandy and Ole Miss all need RB's and all passed on even bringing him in for a visit.

Looks real stupid to cut him loose now dosen't it. Offers flooding in for his commit.
Will look extra stupid if you dont land Collins or Tenpenny and wind up with someone worse.
And Blanchard had 3 other SEC offers, it's not like his option was Sun Belt or Arkansas. Unfortunately being cut so late in the process not everyone is going to have a spot for you still.
Will be pretty hilarious if Arky ends up Tenpenny/Collins-less and you need RBs terribly right now. Cutting Blanchard was downright stupid.

maybe he's just stupid like you.

Which is why he's going to South Alabama?
I wish him well, but his injury and/or grade issues are why he's not getting more of a shot at bigger schools. Arkansas, with our RB depth issues, can't afford to take a chance at RB. We need to be more sure than that.

Geeze you Ark fans are retarded.
Yeah, he was only committed to you for 8 freakin months and then cut loose late in the process, teams dont tyically hold spots for long time commits to other schools. Try using your brains for a second guys.

if he was actually as good as you imply they would have made room. Fact of the matter is that he was a backup plan for all the SEC universities that offered. we accepted his commitment under a temporary staff that clearly was just accepting any commitment that they could get.

I'm not saying he's a 5-star everyone holds a spot for him type of prospect. I'm saying he's a solid prospect that unlike some arky fans in this thread want to say he's nothing more then Sun Belt prospect had 3 other SEC offers. Last I checked that's not a terrible prospect. And schools dont offer backup plans in March and April like OM and MSU did.

5-6 SEC schools besides Arkansas are still scrambling for RB commits with 7 days to go. There is obviously something up with him that actual coaches are seeing that we star gazers don't see.

They do when they're "4 star, can't miss" RB's...which is what you're making him out to be. He obviously isn't.
STARS! OMG, STARS!!!@*$!@*$Y)!

The SEC teams that offered him are not scrambling for any RBs right now...well, besides the team that cut him loose. Go figure.
Vandy might give him a look because Ford just decommited, but he could just also recommit. But he did just pull the trigger after his OV to USA.

Except I didn't say that once, good try though. Just think it's hilarious Arky thinks they were in a spot to cut a solid RB off their commits when you desperately need RBs and have no commits since then.

He's solid in your eyes but apparently not the coach whose RB just won the Doak Walker award. Sorry if I trust his opinion on this one.
They apparently rate other guys ahead of Blanchard. They'll get 2 of the 6 guys they're targeting. They obviously have all those guys rated above Blanchard or else they wouldnt have dropped him. I'm not sure why that's so upsetting to you.

Good for Blanchard. Hopefully he can stay healthy at USA. I thought he would end up at Tulane.

Exactly - a solid RB, who evidently DIDN'T fit BB's system. He's got a handful of other guys on the target list that he liked better. If he doesn't get any of THOSE guys, then you can laugh. Otherwise, you're premature in your ejaculation.

But Alex Collins fits who is the same size.

He's a good running back, lots of potential IF he can get healthy and stay that way. His sophomore year was special. He sees things on the field most people don't. Just anticipates where to run. After that he had injury after injury. He is a great kid. Has the potential to be a special player if he can get it together.
Posted on 1/29/13 at 11:54 am to thunderbird1100
Yes because evey running back that is the same size runs the exact same way.
They're recruiting a RB who is 5'9, 190. Obviously size is not the only thing they are looking at in a prospect.

I'm not sure what all the pissiness is about, from either side. From the kid's perspective, he's still getting his education paid for, so good for him.
Hopefully someone will pick up the RB from Walker. He's a good athlete as well.
