Why? You think he's leaving early for the draft?

Yup. I think he's about as good as any LB in the SEC this year.

He’s kind of using hyperbole since Dodson may be back and Hines is like 6 2 235 and plenty athletic, but Harris will probably play a lot as a freshman

Have you seen our rush defense the last 5 yrs? Outside of the second half of 2012, our defense was a joke

He's going to be the most athletic and SEC sized LB on our team the second he steps on campus.

That's sad.

Is it?

6'2"-242 is pretty ideal for an ILB. Luke Kuechly is 6'3" 238.

As far as athletism he cleans 365 as a 17-year-old, he set the class fo 2019 record for power throw (I believe), and can play corner and WR in HS.

That’s a fricking huge WR/CB. He’s athletic as hell I don’t see changing positions being a problem and he’s said he wants to play LB

He's a soft 235 then. He looked small on the field last year. Maybe he's been in the weight room.

LB is an entirely different position than those, not an easy shift at all. Going to take him a year or two to learn it. I think he'll be a beast of a special teams player early on though.

Where are you getting these numbers from? I was at an event and he was 6’0” 210 lbs

ETA: Christian has good potential but needs to learn the position. Bama liked him a lot but cooled, I think their class is turning out better than even they expected.

I wish LSU would have taken him over the kid from Bama. I know they’re slow playing him because we have Brooks, Starks and they think they can land Dean (I don’t think they can).

It was reported in an update that Harris is north of 240 as of a few days ago.

And then they had this is the story on his commitment.
quote:

Christian is a 6-2 (plus), 242-pounder who is fast and athletic enough to play cornerback and wide receiver — and play them very well — for one of Louisiana's most powerful programs. Harris is also an insanely explosive athlete, as evidenced by the fact that he recently set the University Lab power clean record with a Quentin Coryatt-esque 365-pound lift.

Gotcha man. If he’s at 240 that’s great news for you guys.

He’s a very, very athletic kid.

I’ll be interested to see if they use him at LB at Uhigh. I thought they’d keep him at CB since they have Bryton Constantin.

I’m glad Christian knows he needs to move to LB. that’s where his future is.
