2023 4-star safety Elliott Washington (Venice, Fla.) commits to Alabama

Legacy commit. Ran a 10.84 as sophomore in high school. Pretty good for a safety

Elliott Washington. Played basketball at Alabama in the early 90s.

I was at the 1992 Alabama-Arkansas game as a kid where Elliot Washington hit the three at the buzzer for the winner at the SEC tourney in Birmingham, six future first round picks on the floor that day. (Miller, Day, Mayberry, Sprewell, Horry, Robinson) One of my favorite Bama moments in history. Still have my ticket stub from the Friday night session the night before.
This was the same SEC tournament where Shaq and Tennessee got into a bit of a brawl and Dale Brown ran out on the floor as the Birmingham crowd chanted "Throw Dale Out".
This Bama team would lose to Pitino and Jamal Mashburn's Kentucky team the following day, just a couple weeks before the Christian Laetner game.
It was a killer weekend to be hanging out in Birmingham.
