That's just not possible for any coach. There are way too many players in the area to get them all.

He won't "lock up" metro Atlanta any time soon, but if he at least starts signing the type of guys (develop 3 stars with occasional 4 and 5 stars) that Chan Gailey or OLeary did back in the day, that will be a huge win. Gailey put a pretty good volume of kids in the NFL when he was there.
Geoff Collins sounds a lot like Dabo did starting out... if he can actually build it remains to be seen.

Seems more like Butch Jones to me.

Let me clarify. I embellished a little. I know he can’t lock it up. What I meant was just getting his fair share of elite talent out of it. In years past a kid like Morton might decommit from Bama or UGA or some other factory and would simply go to another factory. GT wasn’t even considered.
If Geoff can make sure those kids look at Tech or even prevent them from committing somewhere else to begin with and sign them, GT is going to improve. There’s more than enough talent within 30 miles of GTs campus to take them up a notch.
So far Geoff has gotten from transfers:
1. 5 star UF transfer Anntoneous Clayton Vienna GA
2. 4 star UM transfer Myles Sims - Westlake HS - Atlanta GA
3. 4 star ND transfer Derrick Allen - Lassiter HS - Marietta GA
4. 4 star Miami transfer Marquis Ezzard - Stockbridge GA
So he has got these guys coming back home and wanting to play one Atlanta for the city. That’s his pitch and it’s working (so far).
Start getting guys like Morton and this thing will really elevate.

UGA fans would love that. He is a much better coach than Butch Jones who has hired much better assistants than Butch Jones.
Geoff Collins has elite defensive units at Miss state and UF. So he can coach. It’s proven at the highest level.
I am confident he is not Butch Jones. George OLeary would not have pushed Todd Stansbury to hire Collins if he thought Collins weren’t a good coach. OLeary just wouldn’t sign his name to that.

I agree, I think a good G Tech would be good for UGA and for Georgia football in general. How about yall start tonight and give Clemson a game

Butch was once considered a good coach.

Dude got Sabanized or processed, same thing. An offer from Saban is a fluid thing, it means nothing.

Does Coach Eaux ever "process" commits?

Of course he does.

If he works hard he can get Tech back to 9-10 wins a year. It will be tough to do better than that. But that's pretty darn good, too.
