only thing that comes to mind is maybe the bigger schools don't offer a ton of guys in state early. Maybe there are 3 linemen both UT/A&M like more in state and don't want to scare them off.

Or maybe he didnt have any interest in texas or A&M. IT is an "interest" list afterall, not a "here's every offer list".
