FWIW- Michael Dyer posts similar stuff on twitter. Actions, not fb or twitter posts/pics should be more of the TPOS litmus test.

Who has ever said foster was a thug?

Bama fans? Every interview I've seen with him, while hard to understand, he always seem respectful and seems to love the game

Our LBs are going to suck. Shock of the century.

Im more concerned about the OL than Frazier. Starting 2-3 freshman along the OL is going to hurt. We have to be able to run the ball to take pressure off of Frazier.

To me this is what will decide how good we are. If Robinson and Westerman are as good as advertised then we will be a tough team to handle. If not it is gonna be a long year.

I am not worried at all about Kiehl. He looked solid at A-Day and has gotten rave reviews from the players over the summer. If our OL blocks then we don't need him to be Tom Brady, we just need him to keep those safeties back and hit the open men.

Mostly because we cant not possibly be any worse than last season. No where to go but up thing.

If we lose the first two, this season could definitely be worse than last year.

Greg Robinson will be much better than AJ and make the left side of our line a lot less of a liability. The other freshman was a redshirted 5* (according to some sites), and has the talent and strength. Dismukes has proven he can play in this league and should be improved, and assuming Slade and Sullen start, that's a pretty solid OL. Not great by any means, but good enough to have some semblance of an inside running game.

Speaking of blocking, watching last year our perimeter blocking was nowhere near the level it was with DA, TZach, and Kodi. Outside of Emory we were just plain bad, and it really hurt us on any sort of screen/perimeter run which made us even more one dimensional. Hopefully Trooper has gotten this bunch into the same mindset the 2010 receivers had.

I'm gonna trust in what BVG is doing. Our defense has been soft and lacked mental toughness. It isn't just coach speak when he says every position is wide open. If Holland can't get it together, I have no doubt the BVG will not start him. He pretty much said yesterday that if they are gonna have to live with mistakes, we will play the player that gives us the most production

Sad news out of practice today...

John Sullen was in pads and practicing. So there’s that.

Phillip just posted a FYEO, but it was mostly stuff about our practice shorts, Yox, and baseball.

Couple of interesting nuggets I'll paraphrase:

Melvin Ray is more talented than most probably expected.

The young OL are as good as advertised.

Frazier is 1st string, regardless of what coaches say.

Delaine is getting some attention from the defensive coaches.

Good. Dude was the only person in the Utah St game to actually make players while he was in there. The coaches then rewarded him by taking him out of the game.

Before he got hurt, JD looked to me like our second best end. If he's put in the work in the offseason and keeps the speed off the edge he showed early last season he's going to see a lot of playing time. It's going to be really interesting to see what Nosa's role is this year with so many young, talented guys at that position.

It's amazing how much some of y'all can tell after 5 practices. Has a coach ever in the history of college football come out after 5 practices and not said the team doesn't have a long way to go, etc?

I'm glad VanGorder said all positions are open. That's the way it should be every year in practice. Make em earn every snap they get. That's how you breed competition and improvement and do away with complacency and unaccountability, which is what we had the last few years, imo.

And can we move this to the thread that's already in the rant for practice talk?

I'm all for that. I think it was over run by ranters commenting on the team's shorts. It got really annoying

I see someone bumped it though

That was me.

My advice for rantards. Ignore them. Just don't respond and they'll go away.

I don't respond to them. Been putting up with them dor a while now.. Still derails a thread though, because someone will respond to them, then it turns into a pissing match

I'm not sure why so many Auburn people have their expectations up for this season.

I think we will be better this year and our record will reflect that.

1-Older players (experience, conditioning)
2-Upgrade at DC (OC upgrade TBD)
3-Better schedule (big games at home)

I think we beat Arky or UGA or both. LSU and Bama maybe just out of reach.

Anyway, back to recruiting...
