I'd be shocked if McKinzy was the next MLB, unless he wins the job this year. I fully expect Reuben Foster to start from day 1, and to have McKinzy kick out to OLB. Holland, if he can't impress this season, will find himself riding the pine.
See I don't think Cass is an OLB. I could be completely wrong and it might be one of those where we want the best players on the field but I see Cass staying at MLB. I think it would be nice to have two elite guys at that position for a change. To me next year is going to be really interesting to see what we do with the top talent coming in to go with the very experienced guys already here

Methinks with the staff high on Bell, Davis, & Therezie and hating on all the LBs, we'll see a good amount of nickel this year.

Jake Holland seems to be the defensive version of DeAngelo Benton.
Damn dude, that is harsh. Even I would not say something like this.

+1 and especially the bolded portion. I've defended Jake quite a few times on here and other boards but the recent comments from CBVG are very concerning. He struggled getting us lined up against Utah State and it continued throughout the season until they benched him. It was really evident after the Arkansas game when we were up 7 or 14 early. They went to the hurry up, we couldn't get lined up on defense and the rest is history. Those 2 examples have absolutely nothing to do with his ankle's or wrist and the fact that he is still struggling enough to where they called him out about it is a major concern for a defense that put's so much on the shoulders of the MLB.

On the latest video from 247, everyone watch Clint Moseley throw. He's not in the race anymore, it is all Frazier. And now I'm thinking Wallace will get first shot at backup. Moseley can barely generate any arm strength at all.

Seriously? I haven't seen any videos of them actually throwing
Mind posting it? I have an account

I would, but I'm on my mobile. It's the first glance I've seen as well.

Its a warm up. there should not be any zip on the ball.
What you can take from that video is seeing KF and RP working together and taking snaps together. That tells you who the start er is.
KF will be the starter though.

I'm starting to fear this will be the case against Chad Morris's O in week 1 as well.

Yea they were just warming up so I'm not sure it's any indication of his shoulder
Still KF has to start or I'll just not watch

Seriously though, what is so harsh about it? They both lack the mental aspect of the game. Benton probably still doesn't know which routes to run, much like Holland still can't line up a defense.
Personally I'm glad to see the Stache call him out. He can get his shite together or watch the game from the bench. I'm beyond over the abortion we have put on the field the past 3 years and called defense.

I try not to look into much when it comes to practice or coach speak but reading yesterday about Frost spending the beginning of practice with special teams and then joining the LB corp to me seems wrong.
If our LBs are struggling, why is he with ST? he needs to be with the lb group and Coach Boulware can find someone else to take Frosts spot.
But im not a coach.
*of course as I finish watching the video, there Frost is wiht the LBs this morning.

The press sees 15 maybe 20 minutes of practice. That's who reported this aboyut Frost. Means nothing at all.

He was "short-arming" everything. You don't do that unless you have a bummed shoulder. I would know.

Chiz never says anything specific to the media and the fact that they are essentially acknowledging that our LBs aren't very good has me worried. Seems like they are trying to manage expectations already.
This. Better start prepping our anoose for the season.

I'm not sure why so many Auburn people have their expectations up for this season. Anyone with a working brain could look at what we were losing after 2010 and know the next couple of years wouldn't be easy. Throw in some attrition, and we're not in a good situation at a couple of the most important positions on the field.
My hope on defense is that our line can consistently get a push up front and our DBs step it up big time. With the talent we have on the DL and in the secondary there is no excuse for us to not have an average defense-with or without a MLB that can make the right adjusments. My biggest concern is QB. I'm still not sold on Frazier, and won't be until I see him get it done in a college game. And if he goes down we might as well put Wallace in and let him take his lumps. At that point it'll be a lost season anyway.

Mostly because we cant not possibly be any worse than last season. No where to go but up thing.

Im more concerned about the OL than Frazier. Starting 2-3 freshman along the OL is going to hurt. We have to be able to run the ball to take pressure off of Frazier.
