Cass will not be 3rd string in 2013. If Foster lives up to the hype, I expect Cass to move outside. That's where he played in HS along with DE

Next year, we are potentially looking at this (no particular order):

MLB - Reuben Foster, Jake Holland, Cassanova McKinzy
I made sure to put this because of potential moves in the lineup...

Stanky, if Bates did fix that problem, I didn't notice it. I thought he'd be a superstar at linebacker when he first moved there, so maybe he can completely turn it around.

That's natural. Once you form an opinion of someone, it's hard to see them any other way.

This is entirely unscientific, but I'd be willing to bet he missed 75% fewer tackles last year than he did in 2010. If someone wants to waste the next two days watching our last 27 games back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back, I'd be interested in being proven right.

It's an opinion, but it's not one I'd like to have, and I'd rather him prove me wrong any day of the week...

I've watched the 2010 and 2011 season's games multiple times, but never look that close at Bates.

Partly because I was too busy fapping to Cam Newton in 2010, and crying in 2011...

Pretty sure Bates led the team in tackles and had more than Bynes did a few years ago or some shite

This is correct. He made a big improvement last year wrapping up instead of going for the big hit.

I think Bates is going to have a pretty good year.

I hope BVG can avoid the match-up of Bates on a TE in man coverage this year. Ton of teams last year would swing a TE out into the flat and throw at Bates b/c of that size disadvantage.

I don't think Bates is especially spectacular but I think he's solid within the role he has been forced to play since he stepped on campus. His struggles have been exaggerated because of his highlight-reel whiffs, but more times than not I like to believe he nailed his assignment.

Jeff Lee said we'd be up to #4 in the team rankings in the next few days (currently sitting at #7).

Now, I'm not normally one to trust his info (La'El Collins, 75% and rising), but given the current situation with Green and Bryant, it doesn't seem like much of a stretch.

And it seems like there's been a whole lot of smoke coming from Norman iynwim...

He pretty much said in a thread today, he expects Bryant to commit early next week so we'll see.

We're actually at #9, so the jump will be even higher if his prediction is correct. JLee definitely doesn't try to hide his homerism with his predictions

Hard to see Foster starting over Holland in 2013. As much as Holland sucks, he will be a senior. Very, very difficult for a true freshman to beat out a senior.

If Foster is as good as expected, it'll happen...

And who knows how much Holland has improved or will improve. He was significantly injured most of last season, so it'll be interesting what a healthy, more experienced Holland will look like.

IMO, he will be decent enough to keep his spot, but Foster will get a good amount of PT

Oops. I guess the AuburnSports homepage hasn't updated. Per one of the Bunker math junkies, it would take a commitment from Monty, Green, or Bryant to give us enough of a jump.

Kinda unrelated, but with the superhomer prediction that we end up signing Montravius Adams, O.J. Howard, Greg Bryant, Tray Matthews, and Tyrone Crowder, we'd be sitting at 2892 points, which would put us at the #1 class in the country. Obviously, there's a number of problems with that, the biggest being that other teams will take more commits as well, but USC can only take 2 more recruits tops, and most of the others are pretty close to capping out at the 25 limit. Add in the fact that a few of our 3*s might get bumps to 4*s, and we might take one or two guys otherwise, and it's not too off-base.

Foster would start on any team as a freshman, he's just that good.

If push comes to shove you can play Foster at OLB and fill Bates position til Holland graduates

Either way, Frost/Foster at linebacker is exciting to think about.

I've been waiting to see what Frost has in store for us since we landed him in the class of '11. I just hope he will trust that knee 100%, which I believe he will.

ETA: Shoulder. I'm retarded...and really tired.
