Article on Rettig is up on Rivals. He falls just short of naming Auburn his leader. From watching his video, he seems to have extremely high upside and would be ranked much higher if he didn't tear his ACL early last season. Here's a cool quote on standing in Jordan-Hare:
quote:

"I was with my dad, and to tell you the truth, I felt like I had finally accomplished something. I felt like I had gotten somewhere where I wanted to be. It's a great place to be," Rettig said. "It's a huge, huge stadium. It's cool. I was just thinking how many people would be there screaming."

Looks like we have a good shot at getting his commitment over the summer.

Rettig has maybe the best arm strength of any QB in this class. He easily has enough arm strength to fit the ball between the CB and safety against cover 2 zone in his HS highlights. He also has more than enough mobility to escape the pocket and pick up a few first downs with his legs. Unfortunately, he only played two games last season, but threw for about 700 yds and 7 TDs. Would be ranked higher with more of a junior season, but his stock should jump at camps and during his senior season.

I think in the story Bryan Matthews wrote Rettig said he definitely wanted to check out a game this fall.

We have aTm, LSU, Georgia, and Arky at home...

Let him have his pick. He'll have a blast.

He plans on committing in June, so when he makes his OV in the fall he will already be committed (hopefully to Auburn).

We might still take 2, depending on what Moseley does. I want JJ for sure. He's one of my favorites of this class. Big, good arm, good speed and running ability, etc... Damn, he grew up and Auburn fan.

Man, he grew up AND he's an Auburn fan. Who'da thunk it.

I also think I read where he was going to be an Early Enrollee too.

IMO, Rettig and Bateman are the only two QB's I would definitely take over Johnson. Rettig has the arm strength, accuracy, and bloodline (his bro is Boston College QB) to be a stud. If he wouldn't have hurt his knee last season, he'd be a surefire Top 100, possibly Top 50 prospect

Any chance we take 2 QB?

Bryan Matthews and JLee have said the coaches are considering it. My take is it may just depend on what happens with Moseley and Wallace

Seems unlikely. We took 2 in the last class. Plus the numbers crunch will likely prevent taking 2 in this class. Read the other day w/o attrition, we can only take 16 in this class.

Rettig wants to play on the west coast. It's going to be tough to get him to commit.

Boosters are planning another armed robbery soon, so don't be concerned with attrition.

Good. I was worried TCU is going to take our Fulmer Cup.
