"Something drastic" = Trainer that's a UT fan

I find it hilarious that Bama and UT posters are basing this off Lawson's fricking TRAINER.
To be fair, it's a bit more than that now on the Bama side. I don't know about UT.

And he had interest in Bama dating back to the Junior Bowl, it was just never reciprocated. He had good things to say about the Hybrid LB position, then commits to a 43 school.

I find it hilarious that Bama and UT posters are basing this off Lawson's fricking TRAINER. Not his parents or a family member or himself flirting hard with either school. His trainer
EXACTLY!! His TRAINER! Not even someone he would consider important in his life. His trainer! C'mon. His FATHER, on the other hand, loves AU and wants Carl to stick to his commitment, but enjoy his visits because it's a once in a lifetime experience.

I'm mostly talking about the UT stuff. I really don't know anything about Lawson and Bama, but I'm confident he'll stick

It's a glorified Weakside Defensive End. It's the position that's crucial for a multiple front. UF played a ton of Nickel last year because of depth purposes, so we really haven't seen our true D yet. The "Buck" position is just a sales pitch, just like the "Jack" position IMO.

Lance Thompson coached his father at Georgia Tech and they are apparently pretty good friends. That's basically all we've heard from the Bama side. I think he'll stick with AU but anything can happen in recruiting so we'll see.

And while we're on the subject of him talking up Alabama his Junior year, don't you think everything he has said/done for Auburn would cancel that out? He hasn't shown one sign of wavering and has been recruiting for Auburn since he commited.
I just don't see anything, aside from baseless rumors, that suggests he is going to flip. At all.

We don't really know much either. Some say we may try to push harder for Lawson but this is the first we've heard about anything since he committed to AU. Again i highly doubt he'll go anywhere but AU.

quote:I think most people share this opinion. But there's always people like Bucc who throw shite on the wall and hope it sticks, like when he said earlier today that if Bama gets involved, AU has a 33% chance of getting him
Again i highly doubt he'll go anywhere but AU.

Then don't believe it then, I wasn't asking anyone to believe. I don't bother with the Foster stuff that's posted, so feel free to do the same with Lawson. And I'm not saying I believe any of the Lawson stuff is true or that he'll flip.

I wouldn't go that far to say that but if Bama does push it could get interesting. But for now he's all AU and we have a lot of other targets that we are pursuing at Jack and DE.

I'm not saying I don't believe you about Carl Lawson talking up Alabama his Junior year, but there's a ton of recruits that do that every year. I just don't see how that really helps Alabama when: 1) Lawson has been commited to Auburn for 3 months 2) Lawson has been recruiting for Auburn the entire time 3) He's pretty much best friends with Dee Liner 4) There's been no "smoke" other than rumors that have no base. The things in favor of Auburn trump that from both Alabama/Tennessee.
Again, I know you're not the type to just throw shite against the wall and hope it happens. You don't just make up rumors to make it seem like it gives said college an advantage at a recruit.

Riddle me this, what's the difference between smoke and fire?

quote:if they were THAT good of friends, Bama would've been more of a player for him early on. It's not like this is some brand new relationship the past few weeks. Like I said, Carl's father wants him to keep his word and enjoy his visits. That's it. Carl, Dee, Trey, and a few others I won't mention are all very excited about playing on the same defense together.....as they've all discussed.

It only takes a little doubt to change something. When Yeldon was told Bama was looking at him at Safety, it pushed him to Auburn. When he found out Bama was recruiting him for the position he wanted to play, he started listening again. Granted he was a Bama fan himself, but I'm not sure that was the hugest factor involved.

2) Lawson has been recruiting for Auburn the entire time 3)
I've seen people recruit for schools, only to end up elsewhere. If you want to believe what you believe on Foster, he's also been quoted pushing Bama to recruits as late at the 17th/18th of this month If he flips to Auburn, it only proves that it doesn't mean anything.
quote:
3) He's pretty much best friends with Dee Liner
I've already spoke my peace on this. So if he decides to go elsewhere, will they not be friends anymore? Friendship shouldn't be determined by who is going where. That's not friendship.

4) There's been no "smoke" other than rumors that have no base.
This literally started yesterday, they gotta start somewhere

It's new, I expect it to be taken with resistance. It's not directly from just a regular poster, it's from an owner of a recruiting site. He's also the basis of some of Bama's "insiders", whether by friendship or subscription.
