Give me a hand with this one saint..

Alvin Kamara is still picking up offers as went enter the heat of summer, but he may not be open much longer. A commitment could be on the horizon for the busy running back out of Georgia.

quote:

"I just spent Sunday and Monday at Alabama and I had a great time over there. I was at their camp and they worked me hard, but I liked it," Alvin Kamara told Scout.

Kamara has been trying to get some rest in between camps and Norcross workouts the last 36 hours. He will be back on the road again Thursday.

"Our team is going over to Athens Thursday for the UGA passing league, so I am staying pretty busy. It wears on me a little because my body gets tired, but it is something I have to do."

The four-star running back may be on the road a few more times this summer too. Florida State and Oklahoma State are two schools Kamara mentioned as possibilities, but nothing is set.

"I am just taking things as they come right now. I may go to Oklahoma State with Ryan Jenkins, but I am not sure. I have workouts every morning at Norcross and I am not sure where all I will be this summer yet."

The no. 14 ranked running back in the country may not have a camp schedule planned, but he does have a plan about how he wants his recruiting process to play out.

"I will probably narrow my list down to five schools late in June or early in July," Kamara said.

"I have been talking to a ton of coaches on the phone, so I will keep doing that, get a few more visits in, then I will be ready to cut my list down. After that, I plan to commit in August."

It looks like only three spots remain open to make Kamara's final list. Two schools have already secured their spot to be in his top five.

"Alabama is in and Georgia is too. I really like the coaches at those two schools a lot. Alabama is a very good program and Georgia is the in-state school, so they are both going to be in my top five. Those are the only ones I know right now."

Oregon recently offered Kamara and the Ducks have been recruiting him as hard as anyone over the past couple of weeks.

Stay tuned to Scout for the latest on this explosive back out of the Peach State.

***Lake City (Fla.) Columbia offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil is one of the obvious headliners of camp and as we stated in the camp preview, the five-star’s experience in Tuscaloosa will go a long way in determining Alabama’s chances moving forward. Sources indicate Tunsil has enjoyed himself thus far and has begun to bond with Tide OL coach Jeff Stoutland over the course of the multi-day visit. There’s still a long way to go with Tunsil’s recruitment, but there’s feeling UA has significantly improved its chances with the nation’s top offensive tackle now that he’s been on campus for a number of days.

***While it was reported elsewhere that five-star 2014 running back Leonard Fournette camped at UA, Fournette tells BOL that he has yet to camp anywhere this summer, but hopes to make it to UA and LSU for camps later this summer. It’s shaping up to be a classic UA-LSU battle for Fournette with sources on both sides of the aisle feeling the Tide have a very real shot of nabbing the New Orleans (La.) St. Augustine star.

***Sources indicate Atlanta (Ga.) Marist TE/DE Greg Taboada put on a show in Tuesday’s camp which culminated in the 6-foot-5, 235-pounder leaving with an offer from the Crimson Tide. Taboada made a few highlight catches in 7-on-7 work and was singled out as the best tight end over the span of the past three days aside from UA commit O.J. Howard. Academics are said to be a big factor with the Atlanta (Ga.) Marist School fast-riser with programs like Stanford posing competition.

*** Recently offered JUCO offensive tackle Leon Brown had previously expressed his plan to take an unofficial visit to UA prior to returning to school at ASA College in Brooklyn on June 10. Brown now tells BOL that those plans are on hold due to transportation issues. The Maryland native has added offers from Kansas and Ole Miss and plans on taking official visits during the season.

*** We touched on the visit of Sugar Land (Texas) Dulles CB Maurice Smith in the last batch of Nuggets and continue to hear good things about Smith and his feelings on Alabama.

*** Butler (N.C.) Matthews QB target Riley Ferguson arrived in Tuscaloosa on Tuesday and will be leaving campus today after throwing for the staff, wrapping up the work outs of the candidates for the second QB in the 2013 class and ushering in a period where UA will evaluate the situation.

***Looking ahead, it’s worth noting having several talented 2014 signal callers work out for the staff should pay dividends in the evaluation process for that cycle. With in person evaluations being a significant factor in UA’s QB evaluation process, it’s big that UA has had quarterbacks like Tyler Harris, Devlin Hodges, Luke Ward, and E.J. Moss on campus prior to their junior seasons.

All four figure to be among the best QB's in the South- Harris is currently ranked as the top 2014 pro-style quarterback by 247Sports, Hodges was recently named QB MVP of a loaded group at the MVP Camp Under the Lights, Moss figures to be one of Alabama's top prospects, and a source close to Ward indicated that UA feels he'll develop into a national recruit.

*** 2014 Jackson (Miss.) Callaway offensive guard Roderick Taylor has impressed for the second consecutive year at UA’s camp. Taylor has drawn comparisons to current Tide OL Chance Warmack and it’s felt that he should be one of the Magnolia state’s top 2014 prospects and is one of the best offensive linemen from that state in the last few cycles.

***UA is in good shape early with recent 2014 offer Tony Brown. Brown has built a good relationship with recruiter Burton Burns and has a few people close to him that like Alabama as well. Look for Brown’s recruitment to likely come down to the SEC West (UA, LSU, Texas A&M) and Texas.

That sounds very good for Bama IMO. It's going to be tough to get him and Henry but it's nice to know that Bama has a very good chance.

I don't think either one will be a college RB.

Devlin Hodges, quarterback from Mortimer Jordan High School in Morris, Ala., was one of the top underclassmen at Alabama's summer camp this week. Hodges discussed his performance in Tuscaloosa.

quote:

"I went to Alabama’s camp on Monday," said Devlin Hodges. "The camp went good. I talked to coach Nussmeier after the camp. He told me I have good talent and mechanics. He told me to work on my drops and footwork.

“I like coach Nuss. He would tell you when you messed up, so next time you know what to do. He is a cool guy. I like him.”

The 6-foot-2, 180-pound prospect projects as one of the top quarterbacks in Alabama for 2014. He has early interest in the in-state SEC school.

“I have been to Tuscaloosa before," Hodges said. “They have nice facilities. They have great coaches and good tradition down there."

Hodges is receiving interest from Alabama, Auburn, Middle Tennessee, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Troy and UAB. He will attend camps at Mississippi State and Auburn this weekend.

Kevin Crosby, linebacker from Bamberg-Ehrhardt High School in S.C., spent four days camping at the University of Alabama. Crosby is one of the top 2014 prospects in the Southeast with more than 30 scholarship offers. He talked about his time spent with the Crimson Tide.

quote:

"The camp at Alabama was really good," said Kevin Crosby. "It was a lot of hard work. We went through position drills and seven-on-seven. All the coaches get after it like you are already there.

"I worked out at tight end and linebacker. I liked playing both. There was a lot of competition at both positions. The coaching staff was great. They are on you just like you play for them right now. They teach you things to help make you better."

Crosby spent a lot of time with the entire coaching staff including a meeting Wednesday morning with head coach Nick Saban.

"I spent time with coach Rumph, coach Smart and the tight ends coach [Bobby Williams]," he said. "I spent time with all the coaches on both sides. They told me to keep working hard. They told me just to keep working hard.

"I spent time with coach Saban this morning. Coach Saban was basically saying when you come to Alabama what they expect. He wasn’t trying to pressure me to go there. He talked in general about college and the expectations."

The 6-foot-1, 230-pound prospect is mainly recruited as an athlete. Alabama likes him as an H-Back or linebacker.

“They will be one of my top schools for sure," Crosby said of the Tide. "The coaches stand out. Their style of play and the atmosphere stand out to me. The academics really stand out.”

Crosby plans for more trips this summer.

"I think my next trip is to Florida," he said. "I want to get to Tennessee in July. I am trying to narrow down my list. It’s tough. I have 34 offers now."
