And FWIW, I think the window on Poggi may have closed. I just don't get the optimism with all the other studs we have in the wings. So called insiders have been calling his commitment for over a month now. I'm starting to feel that the staff isn't ready to take it.

IDK Poggi is a beast. We have the numbers. I mean what other positions do we need.

I know someone that is related to a member of the staff and the word is they feel Tyren is the best all-around RB they've seen in a couple of years.

The place I would most like to see Poggi if Alabama does get him would be as the Blocking TE.

You think so T, he is pretty good at TE, but has a nice skill set as a DL as well a very nice 2 way player

No doubt Poggi is a player, but I'm putting 2 and 2 together when it comes to his recruitment. The "insiders" said he would be the next to commit 4 commitments ago. I just think it's a case where he wants to commit and we aren't ready to take him.

I must say I dont frick with tidesports at all but Rivals rating system seems to be pretty accurate or the most accurate were going to get and they have him 43rd in the nation.

Poggi is a very good DL player but go back and watch his tape. The kid is just as good at blocking and Faciane is our only blocking TE after this year. Freitag may develop into one but right now, Poggi is better.

I like 247, then Rivals/ESPN and Scout is last.
Actually this new site The Ringer has impressed me a lot as well. They are no doubt the best at evaluating RBs as Rivals and to some extent 247 put too much emphasis on non-football field evaluations of RBs(Camps, Combines, Track time). That's OK perhaps for QBs, DBs, and WRs....But you can't not effectively evaluate RBs, Olineman, DLineman, or LBers without the pads.

I hear what your saying but I have to disagree. I just dont see this kid as being a kid that we would turn down. Assuming we get RN that would be 2 defensive lineman that we would be taking and the way Saban loves to dominate the line i see us taking more than 2 d-lineman every year. The way this kid plays with his aggression and size if he ended up on offense it would be on the offensive line. That 260 is old and about time he gets on a college campus he will be 270 or 280.

Poggi will be a part of this class, too good not to be, he's almost across the board a top 100 prospect and VERY high on the coaches board

Alright lets get an honest eval for Poggi. I like him and really want him. But at TE. Will he make the lineup on the DL, before he is a RS Jr?

See, maybe that's where we differ. I see us getting DeMarcus Walker, he just left Florida out of his top group and we were his leader when he postponed his announcement.

Any Bama fan is going to like 247 now. Oddly all of our commits are rated high. Not saying they made it that way because most are rated high before they commit to us.
