Of course we can. Justin Hoke agreed that OJ Howard had a monster day, and think he will be getting a 5th star in the near future.

Does anyone else remember a time when an Alabama fan could post something ITT without it being responded to by at least 2 Auburn fans?

I mean I'm all for cordial discussions but this is turning into the SECr

This we can agree on. Hill has lost some weight and it shows in his footwork. He has made a lot of strides from his Jr season last year where he wasn't a very good pass blocker.

And OJ, well he is going to be a superstar.

quote:

The 6-foot-6, 225-pound Howard was smooth in and out of his breaks and used his superior size advantage to make every catch that came his way. He was able to get off the line of scrimmage with ease and past defenders with his speed.

With a talented tight end group represented, including Josh McNeil and Kevin Crosby, it was Howard who stood out the most. When asked to pick the best tight end one coach responded, "Howard. By far. He's so fluid on the field. He's a physical specimen. He looks like a sophomore or junior in college right now."

Do we need to call a meeting of the Recruiting Board Council and set rules so that all out war doesn't erupt?

I expected to be impressed by Howard, but Hill really surprised me. I knew he was a quality OL, but he showed that he could be very, very good

Is he planning on gaining some weight to help out in the blocking phase of the game, or staying "slender" to keep his speed? What are the chances on him just becoming a wideout on the next level?

You can add weight and still keep your speed. I think he wants to play WR though

I'm aware, but he looks outstanding the way he is right now. I just wonder how Nick Saban plans on using him.

He's the same size as DGB, maybe just a hair slower. Looks like a WR to me, but who knows?

He's trying to get his speed down in the medium 4.4 range. He wants to play WR and if he can get his speed down he has a great chance to do just that.

He's a hybrid that will be successful at either position at the next level, IMO.

Well I doubt neither one of our starting WRs ran a 4.51 last year. Just saying.

I've watched him play 5 or 6 games during his hs career and this is by far the best the best that he has ever looked. He has always been a great run blocker but struggled with the speed rush off the edge. He is leaps and bounds better at that now.

I think both Maze and Hanks ran in the 4.7s at the combine. But you can typically add 1 to 2 tenths to what a high school reportedly runs even at a camp. That's what made Julio's sub 4.4 combine time even more impressive

Well I think in high school kids train for the 40 where in college unless you go to FLA they dont really train for speed and the put on so much weight that they lose speed.

There's some truth to that. Although college players do have the opportunity to train extensively for the 40 for 3 or 4 months between the season and the combine. There's also been speculation that the combine track is a slow which is why you often see faster times at pro days than the combine.
