I played D3 baseball and our head coach made like 48K. You're not allowed to act like a big swinging dick if you make less than the entry level jobs your players will have upon graduation.
what is the starting rate for a D3 baseball player catching on in A ball?

Lol what a generic article.

This is not the same world. Why consider a school that may not even offer you a scholarship in the first place. Waste of time and money for a kid who likely doesn't have much to begin with if they are unofficially visiting.

Because we know if the only thing you are worried about is the pay, then you probably won't see the big picture and just jump the next time a job comes along that offers you 5 cents more.
Well unless they are being illegal a full-ride scholarship is pretty much the same no matter what university you attend. Again this analogy doesn't equate to the same thing as a job or career. If your dream is to make it to the NFL, you won't get there by performing poorly for your team in college.

This. If a recruit and/or his family are paying out of their own pocket to visit asking if they actually have a shot at a scholarship isn't out of line.

It's still a free college education. If you're going to D3 you're not going pro anyway likely. These guys likely play because they need the scholarship or they really do love the game. Whose going to play football at that level unless they need to or live it.

One huge problem here... d3 offers no athletic scholarships.

This is bullshite. If you're not going to offer a kid a scholarship
it would be my guess that kids looking at Vandy would be expected to ask that question first.
