I hope UT gets good again. Bama needs some competition from their permanent East foe. Florida is going to remain a powerhouse that LSU has to play and this is only fair.

How come when Bama plays Florida, we dominate them (see 2011, 2010, 2009) beating them a combined 101-29? They are not what I consider a powerhouse

we actually beat them in '10 and '11 too. So its not like bama is beating UF while UF beating LSU all the time. 09 was the exception.

Is there a reason you left out 2008?

Florida is not a powerhouse? Get your head out of your arse. Top 5 winningest program in the last decade.

Also, regular season games are way different than playing someone in the SEC championship game with a month to prepare.

frick, you are terrible.

Ok swell, we destroyed them in 2011 regular season as well.

Not a powerhouse?

rivals

here's a free article on the rankings. Rivals doesn't believe Louisville will stay among the top classes

thanks, but i was just using louisville to illustrate a point. If you had 25 2 stars in may you would be #1 just from numbers

Just in time for LSU to finally convince the SEC to get rid of the permanent opponent only to have UT, UGA and UF on their schedule while Bama gets UK, Vandy and Mizzou.

Umm, no. Last season there was exactly one week between our final regular season game against Auburn and the SECCG against UGA.

You mean after they win 4 or 5 games next season?

You think Butch is telling these kids that we are gonna win 10 games this year? He's sold every single one of our commits on bringing UT back to where we once were.

If you knew what you were talking about, you would've noticed that every commit has said things about this class being the foundation that brings Tennessee back.

Oh so you know exactly what Butch is telling them? Is he telling them "Hey guys we're going to get trashed by Alabama, Oregon, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, etc"?

That foundation speech works real well on the legacies. We'll see how it will work on closing the rest of your class when they see those burnt orange jersey's getting thumped every week.

D'andre Payne 4* DB from D.C (no ties to Tennessee)
quote:

“I just fell in love with the program,” Payne said shortly after announcing his commitment on Twitter. “Coach Jones, he is doing some good things, and he’s got some good things in store for the next couple years. It’s about to happen.”

Joseph Henderson 4* DE from Ohio (no Tennessee ties)
quote:

"I've been to a lot of great schools, like*Ohio State*and*Michigan, but I found everything I wanted in a school in Tennessee," he added. "They only had one more spot left at defensive end, and I couldn't let this opportunity pass me by. This is SEC football, and all players want to play with and against the best. I will not be taking any visits this fall, and my recruitment is over."

Jalen Hurd 5* RB from TN (not a legacy)
quote:

"I definitely want to try to play right away," said Hurd, who galloped for 3,357 yards and 43 touchdowns in helping Beech (Tenn.) High go 15-0 last fall. "I'm just going to try to be the best back I can be and help lead this team back to where it was and get back to the glory days."

Daniel Helm 4* TE from Illinois (no ties to Tennessee)
quote:

"I was looking for a coach with character, and I found that with Coach Jones," said Helm, of Glenwood High School in Chatham, Ill. "And I know I can work with (tight ends coach Mark) Elder and (offensive coordinator Mike) Bajakian. I got along well with all those goes. And I feel like their strength and conditioning program will prepare me well for college and perhaps even the next level someday."

Sure sounds like Jones is selling them on winning right from the start but please continue teaching me new things about UT recruiting.

The fact that Hurd is a EE speaks volumes IMO

Great job listing players you have already committed when we're talking about CLOSING players. If you don't know what closing is, it is the empty slots not the taken ones.

Good luck with that after you get trashed by 5 or 6 teams then end up with 4 or 5 wins.

Man you're stupid.

Re-read what he said (obviously talking about closing your final open slots, hence why you even listed those players just now) slap yourself, then stop replying, because each of your replies are even more ignorant than the last.

You're obviously mad I said you guys will win 4 or 5, get stomped by 5 or more and will probably lose a lot of recruiting steam because of that.

It will happen.

Deal with it.
