The error gets all the ink but what State did prior to that helped create the situation. If Mangum does not lead off with a double that was crushed, Auburn does not change pitchers, if Allen doesn’t coax a walk from Burns then Big Mac’s double is not nearly as big. Then it is a just routine grounder to third and boom game over. But by then some doubt was creeping into the Auburn camp.

Devastating loss for Auburn and a game that they let getaway but State had something to do with it too.
