I see Auburn in a perennial fight to with Arkansas to stay one step ahead of Texas A&M and Miss. St., with Ole Miss not seeing the light of day for years to come.
...Auburn has won two SEC championships in the last seven years, and has won at least 10 games in two other years during that time span. Moreover, the recruiting since Chizik took over has been on par with that of LSU and Bama, and he's outcoached Saban twice in three years (there's no way that it should have taken 59 minutes for the 09 Bama team to take the lead against an Auburn squad that was down to four healthy scholarship linebackers).
But hey, whatever man. You can be shocked and surprised along with Capstone.

I know that the sunshine pumpers are saying that Frazier looked like Tom Brady this offseason, but you're installing a new O...and Mocha Cam has thrown 12 passes in the SEC.
AU will improve as a team. The record is probably not going to be reflective of that. That will be based on Oline play, QB play, and the fact that BVG doesn't have "his" kind of guys yet.
AU will lose to UA. It may not be a skull dragging like last year, but it damn sure won't be '09 close.

They kinda suck.

I love the "moral victory" angle to suggest how Auburn is going to overcome QB and defensive issues in one offseason.

Until AU has QB issues resolved, they are a 7-8 win team in the regular season. That back seven on defense has problems too.
Again, get back to me at the end of the season. And, FYI, it's not quarterback that's really the concern, it's offensive line. If they block, either one of the QBs can be successful because there are enough playmakers around them that they don't have to be anything more than ball distributors.

at best: 8-4
worst 5-7
My prediction 7-5

My prediction 7-5

Glad you like it. Of course, the moral victory wasn't during the game, it was the way we drowned out Rammer Jammer with a chant proclaiming that it's great to be an Auburn Tiger. We lost on the field, no doubt about that.
But it's whatever, man. You guys can say Auburn doesn't stand a chance against Bama all you want; I expect nothing less.

I'll gladly admit I'm wrong if AU somehow manages better than 7-8 wins during the regular season. However, there's nothing to suggest that 2012 will be a massive turnaround from 2011.

Frazier did look outstanding, and he's taken the reins as leader of the team (which is more important, IMO), but that has nothing to do with my prediction. If he plays as well during the season as he looked during spring training, Auburn will be right there competing for the conference championship, and I don't think that's going to happen. My prediction hinges on the offensive line giving him time, because, again, he doesn't have to be great to get the ball to players who make plays.

That's because you haven't been paying very close attention. But that's not a big deal; you are an Alabama fan, so I would hope you don't pay too much attention to Auburn...

McCarron looked damned fine in the national title game as well (which is more important, IMO), and he has an extremely experienced offensive line to play behind this year. Your posts state nothing about your defensive play, they only rely on your offensive line play to be the determining factor in your season. Alabama and LSU were number 1 and 2 in total defense last year, while Auburn was sitting at number 81.....just saying it's gonna take more than offense to move up. Wonder what ever happened to "defensive guru Gene Chizik." Maybe BVG will straighten things out, but I kinda doubt it in his first year..

I see you have been following recruiting closely, dumbass...err...iglass

I tend to believe that it's difficult to have a massive change from one season to the next, with a change at both coordinator spots. Though, I think 2013 sets up nicely for AU.

Look, I'm not suggesting that Auburn has all the sudden caught up with Alabama or LSU...but if you have been paying attention, all arrows point toward a great deal of improvement. Auburn didn't belong on the same field with Bama, LSU or UGA last season...those were massacres...you don't fix that in one year. However, those games will be more competitive.
For those of you busting on Auburn's D, do you have any idea how many true freshman were in the regular playing rotation for Auburn? Ever heard of a guy named Ted Roof? Any clue about the talent on that D? Again, not a 100% turnaround, but a turnaround nonetheless.
And regarding Bama, I hope you are excited about your season...lots of reason to be positive ...that OL is going to make whoever is carrying the ball look like Barry Sanders, Eric Dickerson, etc...and it will be fun to watch all that talent starting for the first time. But you don't lose 9 of 11 starters...several of which to the NFL, without taking a step back. That's like Arkansas saying their WR corps is going to be just as good this year.

Except we didn't lose 9 starters. We have five full time starters back, and two more than have started multiple games in their careers. Regardless, we placed a decent defense on the field in 2010, when we were actually replacing 10 starters. Now, before you make the 2010 vs 2012 parallels, I will argue that it wasn't the defense that was ultimately the issue in 2010. It was an offensive line that couldn't stay healthy.

8-4 or 9-3...still not relevant in the SEC West this year.
