How does flattening the curve make it more likely that college football will happen? It's the exact opposite of that.
The purpose of flattening the curve isn't to get it over faster, it's to reduce the number of people sick at once.
If everyone was to go out and get it right now, the entire thing would be over in a few weeks. You'd have more deaths if the healthcare system is over-run. The more you flatten the curve, the longer it takes for the population to get it and for it to clear out.
