I used to live on north padre island and partook/witnessed plenty of debauchery on spring break.
Then I saw a dumbass kid try to pass someone in what he thought was another lane, but was a turn lane, rear ending an SUV at about 50mph. He hopped out of his totalled camry barefoot, drunk as frick, walking around on glass with an obvious concussion. Looked like other injured people in the SUV and his car. EMS was tending to them while police corralled the driver. This was about 7PM on a weekday. I imagined a family just turning to go to the restaurant near the intersection. That soured the whole thing for me.

I'll always have that memory of calling 911 on Spring Break in Panama City when the bouncer took my actual driver's license. I was 21 at the time and he thought it was a fake ID.
