Do you watch the NFL? Going to be just like that with endorsements. I seriously doubt selling a car makes you want to throw a game.

Ask Art Schlichter about that. Or Pete Rose. Neither of them were ever charged with throwing a game, simply betting on games they were involved in. They were both banned for life for it. Would you be damn stupid enough to possibly throw away a career worth millions of dollars for a measly $50 grand?

Eventually, inevitably, but it will be rare. As other posters have correctly pointed out, doing so would require extremely poor judgement and decision making.

This means the situation is somewhat self-remediated by the dumb-frick-bias, which means: the only people dumb enough to do this are also the ones most likely to do it in an indiscreet fashion and get busted for it.

If you know you are gonna get drafted first round, why not make an extra 50k and you only lose 1 game.

A much more likely scenario is a player from a team that is already out of conference and natiinal title contention so it would’t cost anyone their life-long dreams.
