Wright/ Harris situation reminds me of this real life scenario

A med student is in her 2nd year of the program and fails out (couldn't pass the semester end final). She just wasn't cut out for it.
She decides that she still needs a job and wants to work in healthcare, so she applies for RN school (maybe to try at FNP or CRNA, etc.).
She is accepted immediately. Then comes push back:
Applicants who were denied: They/ their families and friends say "well it's not fair that a doctor gets accepted into the program over me, of course I can't compete with them and their background. This isn't fair".
Students in RN school: We shouldn't be compared to or held to the same standard of someone who was a doctor. They're going to raise the standard way too high and we'll never be able to meet it. This isn't fair.
Other RN programs: Our students/ program will look bad compared to theirs because they have a student who was a doctor in their class. Their test scores and measurables will be significantly better than ours. This isn't fair.
Meanwhile, the former med student is wondering why everyone is calling her a former doctor. She was accepted into med school and couldn't pass it. She never passed med school, her boards, finished residency, or anything beyond being given a chance at becoming one. She wasn't good enough.
Calling Wright and Harris former NFL players is like saying this student was a doctor.

People use language and stretch meaning of words and phrases all the time to push a narrative on an ignorant audience…..nothing new under the sun my friend

Nice story! I have one too.
