Cue the responses of "well those scholarships are year to year..." and "that kid is a thug/underachiever/lazy..." and "Coach Saban really cares about these kids so he's giving them a chance to go elsewhere..."
I wish media and butthurt fans alike both felt the same way they do about non-revenue sports oversigning and cutting like they do football oversigning and cutting.
Please someone take a gander at baseball/track/golf/etc. scholarships at ANY school in the country. Then get back to me about football.
Tennessee's new baseball coach just cut like 17 players from the team.........no one cared. Are baseball players less as people than football players? Why the discrepancy?
Hilarious the amount of butthurt Saban can cause.

Those numbers are incorrect for A&M. I've actually listed the returning scholarship players on this thread: LINK
The number is EXACTLY 85. Don't know who those other two players they're counting are. I sure hope they're not including Jameill Showers (transfer), Shayvion Hatten (transfer), Domonique Patterson (injury), or Rhontae Scales (graduated)

Here's what I know...
1. If you ain't pushing the envelope, you're not trying hard enough.
2. I'm pretty sure that Coach Saban had a well-thought out plan before signing the recruits, and that he knows what's going on better than all the infranets boards.
3. I have no problem with cutting deadwood. If a player is not living up to their potential, why should the team continue to waste time and resources on developing dead end players? Major college football in the SEC are not charity organizations.... right?
4. Maybe some players WANT to transfer for an opportunity to get playing time that they are not likely to get at Bama. We're probably not in the loop but you know it is true.
5. Sometimes, being cut free is one of the best things that could ever happen to a player. It sounds trite to say "You'd be a better fit at another school" but sometimes, that actually IS true.
6. Most of the people complaining are the ones not winning championships.
7. We've got 70 players back with the top recruiting class coming in, and a very favorable schedule. Go stock up on vaseline because the butthurt over a threepeat might be epic.

Of course this includes some of the dark years so Alabama doesn't look as bad.

Did you enjoy playing with 65 players last year?
It was fun beating the shite out of the two teams you root for. I enjoyed that very much.

Considering we only signed 21 last year, we had the ability to oversign this year.
And we only signed 25, Bradley Bozeman is delaying enrollment until the spring.
Where the frick is the article blasting Georgia and ATM for signing over 35 a piece?

Especially for Bama. It is supposed to determine which of us plays for the title. LSU is the only school that has beaten Bama regularly this millennium.
Big 3 = Bama, LSU, UF

You don't understand how early enrollments work do you?
1. A&M signed 8 early entrants in December, 23 on National Signing Day. (not 35 like you claim).
2. A&M only signed 19 TOTAL in 2012 (4 early entrants). Since only 15 of those counted towards 2012, they could count up to 10 towards 2012. They counted 8. (9 if you include transfer A.J. Hilliard from TCU)
3. Since A&M signed 23 players on NSD, they can back count 2 towards the 2013 class if they sign in December.
Since the SEC has a rule that you can only accept 25 TOTAL LOIs over the course of one calendar year, (unlike other conferences who allow up to 28-30 in some cases) whether those players make it to campus or not, I don't see where these moronic media types have any argument.
We (as a conference) clearly know what we're doing.

These kids are like cattle to Saban. He doesn't care.
Saban has found a way to manipulate the system and he's basically running a college-level NFL franchise before our very eyes. Hard Knocks should just set up shop at UA.
These poor kids are the victims and they are gonna be chewed up and spit out by "the process"
Saban is the devil. And the Bama fans are worshipping at his altar. You have his evil minions out doing his dirty deeds. (poisoning trees in his name and putting nuts on the innocents' faces in homage to him).
Enjoy hell you sick bastards.
