Would you take 1 national championship

over the next 20 years and your team is average (6-8 wins) to bad (5 wins or less) every year for 19 years except for the one year you won the whole thing or be in the top five (1-2 losses) every season and make the playoffs most seasons and sometimes the championship game but never win the whole thing.

It's almost worse if you're truly making the playoffs every season or close to it and never win. Then you become legendary for not getting it done.
Honestly I think I'd prefer to be competitive every year and never win it. I watch CFB for fun, Auburn has won a title recently, and I'd probably rather have 20 years of competitive football than 1 glory year and 19 genuinely irrelevant ones.

I like being in the hunt. If I wanted 19 years of losing football, I would just follow whoever Willie Taggart coaches.
