Incorrect.

Mizzou brings a whole new market of TV sets.

That's all expansion is about.

And yes UG would pitch a fit. As would UF if you tried bringing in FSU and USCe if you tried bringing in Clemson.

I think most UGA fans don't have an issue, I would think USC and UF would have more issues with their in state acc rivals. But GT was a charter member, they can come back. It doesn't really do anything, but exclude every other major conference from GA recruiting even more. But if the ACC were to collapse and the rats started jumping ship, no issue with them.

The in state rival having no conference bearing is not a benefit but, I have an issue with most of the west schools not having a mandatory P5 game rival. LSU, BAMA, & AU normally schedule a big game with a P5 , but they don't have to, well they do now but they could schedule a weaker openent like Illinois, or Purdue, or Wake , Kansas. Their is no rivalry must win type game

We'd be happy to discuss rivals with you.

Not LSU's fault that they dominate all the other state schools to a point of being irrelevant. Perhaps you guys should try it.

LSU's most important game ( I'm told its not a rivalry) each year is vs Bama. LSU loses that, and as is the case this year suffers the consequences.

Your Gators could sail through the mighty SEC East, then lose to your chief rival and still go to the SECCG. Sounds fair right ?

Now please brag about your OOC schedule, especially outside of the state of Florida.

I'm not buying this one damn bit.

We have at least 1 game on national TV a week, and the SEC network is available to the majority of cable companies anywhere in the nation.

If Oregon were in the SEC, that doesn't automatically mean the SEC will be on every TV set from Eugene to College Station.

The footprint argument is garbage. College football conferences in the modern age have always been regional in geography with national exposure

Won't happen because of TV revenue. That's why A&M and Mizzou were added. Unless Virginia Tech or Oklahoma wants in, we're done with expansion.

ex. Tech, Clemson, FSU would not expand the TV market.

Plus, we already have Auburn. Can't get too crowded with lil brothers.

So like Georgia-Florida.

yes. If LSU loses an OOC game, and then wins the SEC West, they should play in the SEC Championship game. It's the same thing.

Basically, your complaint is stupid. Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, and Kentucky don't have an easier path to the SEC Championship because they play an extra game against a power 5 team.

Say LSU loses to Wisconsin next year and then wins out. Should LSU get to play in the SEC Championship game?

don't think that would bother UGA. They're going to play anyways might as well make them Sec.

Yeah. Georgia has the luxury of their top rivalry game having no bearing on their SEC standing, same with Florida and South Carolina. Yet, they always point with pride to those games as tough OOC ! LMAO what a crock.

Dumb or troll, I cannot tell.

Does everything always have to be 100% lock stock and barrel about money?

Sadly, I guess so.

Its not exactly the same as UGA-Ga Tech last game of the season, intense emotions etc is it ?

Same for the simple minded Gator fan... keep FSU out of the SEC at all costs right ?

How do the contrasting emotions affect things?

Yep, I don't think most Georgia fans would be against it but as others have said, GT doesn't bring much to the table.

The only real reason to look into GT is if they were on the doorstep of getting a B1G invite. It would be necessary to protect the Atlanta market from outside influence, and of the ACC counterparts (Clemmy, L'Ville, FSU), GT is the only one that the B1G would likely want-and only for the market/footprint.

I would probably swap in Tech for UGA

Tech is the better historical program

It's exactly the same in determining standings, rankings, etc.

The emotions don't have anything to do with it.
