Clemson isn't an ag school. It has an ag college. Most of the ag programs are not about animals.
Clemson has most of the programs that SC has plus architecture and other programs. It is a comprehensive university.

why do you spend time gushing over Alabama if you aren't an alabama fan....
Because they are the best.
And we strive to be them

ok, so how does relative lack of prestige compared to Bama, as you see it, hurt Clemson?
Outside of the possible impact of affecting the decision of a recruit or coach, it doesn't.

yes but Dabo going to Alabama would most likely be he played there and he's from Alabama. So why is the prestige thing even being discussed on this topic. lol
Posted on 4/19/18 at 1:11 pm to I Bleed Garnet
you never got it except you do it yourself. lol
Clemson isn't as rural as people make it to be, and outside of Clemson's small organic farm near the stadium, it is mostly surrounded by forest. It isn't like Miss State or Washington State, in the middle of large tracts of farmlad.
Clemson is part of the 40th largest CSA in the country.

lol well I don't think Dabo believes Bama is more prestigious than Clemson given what he says about Clemson.
He's always talking about Clemson's brand is as good as any program's brand and Clemson's traditions like running down the hill, are the best, etc.
Talking about how prestigious your program is is just marketing. lol

Saban said he wouldn't be coaching Alabama.
Mullen said he was happy at MSU.
Coaches never say anything they don't believe.

No shite. He's the head coach. The frick do you expect him to say?

makes sense a florida person knows what he believes. lol
i was told in a contentious way that Carman Jackson would not come to Clemson over Ohio State despite his statement that Clemson was his 1a choice.
then he came to Clemson.
I think it is more rational to believe what people say. it could turn out to be insincere but no reason to assume that.

so you are saying CLemson doesn't have a brand as good as Alabama?
IF that is true, how does Clemson get so many good players?
You are obviously a homer. lol
Anyway, enough of having fun with the Bama homers for one day. Adios.

Not sure Clemson is in an MSA, based on these number it certainly is not Top 40
Lets say the whole upstate has a population of 400K to 800K that is still at least half of what it takes to get a NFL team so that should correlate to your Top 40. At best it might be "bedroom community" or Atlanta or Charlotte (both have pro teams in their MSA's).

lol
google CSA and population. CSA's include a larger area than MSA.
Clemson is pretty close to being in the Greenville-Anderson MSA if it isn't in it. It is 10 miles from Anderson. Clemson students drive into Anderson on regular basis b/c that is the closet mall and it has most of the big box stores and chain restaurants.
The MSA is ranked 60 or so in the country. Seems big enough.
Sometimes people present Clemson as a place with essentially nothing. You would think the students are forced to farm part of the time so they can eat.

you are about as logical as your girl Hillary.
You've conceded Clemson can get top players and coaches.
You've conceded Clemson generally has competitive teams.
As far as I know, you believe Clemson has good facilities.
isn't that prestigious enough. lol
I know if I was head coach at Clemson and I won a national title and 4 ACC titles, I wouldn't think it necessary to go to another college based on 'prestige'. I'd just want to keep rolling at Clemson.

For the 43rd time. I don't think anyone is saying they aren't prestigious "enough". However, it's still asinine to say they are as prestigious as Alabama.
