Also an unbeaten Aggie team lost to Arkansas 31-6 in 1975, not sure if any poll rated them No.1 but it was close

They were ranked #2 by the AP.

LSU lost to Clemson by 57 in 2018.

Not sure why 2018 LSU didn't make this list.

Someone should Fark Saban's head onto Bert Kreischer's shirtless body...

Yeah.. if expanded to #2 AP showings, I imagine UGA@Auburn 2017 shows up somewhere on that list.

Worst overall might have been 2012, when Kansas State lost to Baylor 52-21.

Also don't forget #9 Oklahoma 38, #1 Missouri 17 in 2007.

That South Carolina crowd was rocking in that 2010 game. I remember they jumped up on us early and the stadium rocking during each subsequent kickoff song.

The all-time worst loss by the #1 team is

1942 - Boston College -43 (vs Holy Cross)

quote:

It's arguably the biggest upset in college football history. Fifty years ago, Holy Cross stunned Boston College, 55-12.

quote:

With five shutouts in its 8-0 record, Boston College had allowed an average of only 29 yards a game. All the Eagles needed to do to secure its second national championship in three years, and first ever AP title, was to beat rival Holy Cross in the final game of the regular season.

More on the story of that game and a fire that killed 492 people afterwards... sad

The next 5 worst...

1981 - Pittsburgh -34 (vs Penn State)
1996 - Florida State -32 (vs Florida)***
1988 - Florida State -31 (vs Miami)
1981 - Texas -31 (vs Arkansas)
1962 - Northwestern -31 (vs Wisconsin)

***National Championship Game
